DIY Friendly Ghost Candy Pouch | Fun Crafts with Mom

Now that our house is filled with a massive quantity of candy that might not quite make it until Halloween, I thought it would be fun for the kids to share the love with their friends by whipping up a little pouch for easy giving. Somehow in the past few weeks, Mason has been scared of "monsters" and it's very effective in getting him to listen when misbehaving (yeah I'm cruel like that because he's entered terrible 3 stage?). So to help ease into the spirit of spookiness, a friendly ghost is called for.

Materials

Instructions

1.  Take a sheet of vellum paper and fold in half.
2.  Using a pencil trace two U shapes to form the body of the ghost. Make sure the U part is closest to the fold.
3.  Cut out the U shapes.
4.  Sew around the shape leaving a slight edge.
5.  Draw some friendly (or slightly spooky) faces on your ghost.

6.  Stuff with candy - but not too much because you don't want your ghost to explode!
7.  Sew the bottom of the ghost and cut the edge using decorative scissors or just by hand.

8.  Optional:: Use Washi tape to decorate your ghost.
9.  Voila - ready to share these friendly ghost treats with friends!

This craft is so much fun that you can use practically any sheet of paper you have around the house. You don't even have to limit it to ghosts as Kenzie showed me.

Are your kids excited about all the treats to come? Do they pass out treats to their friends?
