being MVP: Worry Eaters + #Giveaway

Worry Eaters + #Giveaway

Disclosure: My cousin Liz received the following for review. All opinions are her own.

My kids were jumping up and down excited when they received their Worry Eaters in the mail. These dolls from the Haywire Group are designed with a zippered mouth that your child can open and feed their worries to their pet creature. I am a big fan of this product because I believe it helps children to learn to deal with their anxieties. These colorful friends will take care of all your child's worries, so they can learn to relax and let it go.

Worry Eaters are available online at www.haywiregroup.com/worry-eaters. This is a great tool for parents to open up conversations with kids who may be bottling up certain feelings. The fact that Worry Eaters are machine washable was a major plus for me.

My daughter, who is 7, received Flint. She decided to write her worry on a little slip of paper. She had an appointment to go into the dentist for a filling the following day, which she had been feeling nervous about. So she wrote it down on a paper and put it into her Worry Eater's mouth and zipped it up. She even brought her cuddly Worry Eater to the dentist office the next day.

For my son, since he is only three and a half, we had him draw a picture of something he was worried about, since he can't write yet. He drew a picture of a monster in the dark, and fed his worry to his new friend Schnulli.

I would recommend this product to other parents because I think it trains children to deal with their emotions in a productive way. My hope is that this exercise will enable my kids to realize how unproductive worrying can be.

One Winner will Receive Choice of Worry Eaters (S or L)!
