Take Part in The Great American Milk Drive & "Pour It Forward" #CAmilkdrive #ad

Disclosure: This is a partnered post. All opinions are my own.

My family is a big dairy consumer and I am a big supporter of including milk in your diet. I find milk to be beneficial for the entire family from newborn to adults. As a resident of California, I’m happy to know that California is the country’s leading producer of milk, ice cream, butter, nonfat dry milk and whey protein concentrate. It’s no surprise that when I choose to purchase milk I look for the Real California Milk seal.

I feel better knowing that the product I bring home has been made with 100% Real California Milk from Real California Dairy families. It’s comfort in knowing that I’m giving my family quality products from another dairy family with the same values in their products.

I was raised on milk and it was a part of my daily meals and until this day I still enjoy a nice cup of milk with a snack, with my cereal, and even as chocolate milk. It’s no wonder that I raise my children similarly and they have grown to love it as a part of their daily routine. Milk provides such great health benefits with nine essential nutrients including eight grams of protein per cup.

Unfortunately such an important ingredient to a well balanced diet is lacking at food banks and facilities are only able to provide less than one gallon of milk per person each year. California’s dairy farm families are taking part of the Great American Milk Drive and so can you. Over 1400 dairy farm families are pledging $100,000 in matching funds until the end of the year to encourage Californians to donate fresh milk to local Feeding America food banks, which is equal to 20,000 gallons!

Families throughout California can also help donate by going online at www.MilkLife.com/Give and entering a zip code. Additionally, throughout September, California Ralphs and Food 4 Less shoppers can donate 1, 3, or 5 dollars to the “Pour It Forward” program at check out to help deliver milk to families served by local California Feeding America food banks.

  1. We donate a few times a year to the food bank in our town and milk ALWAYS tops their list of things they need here, too.

  6. Our local food bank typically has shelf stable items. It's a great start, but milk is part of a balanced diet. Great way to help others.
