Fun in the Kitchen with Kids || Cub Snacks Box + #Giveaway #Coupon

Disclosure: This is a partnered post with Cub Snacks. All opinions are my own.

Now that Kenzie and Mason are both in school and our schedules are a bit more hectic than usual. It's an exciting new chapter in our journey called life while facing bumps along the way. One of those bumps of late is Kenzie's snack selection. While she does purchase lunch at school because this mama does not have time to whip up a stellar bento style lunch for her every morning, I still need to provide several snacks for her to munch on throughout the day. Cub Snacks provides a fun and engaging way to spend time with your child(ren) while making a hands-on snack!

The Cub Snacks box includes everything you need to make a delicious snack and our kit was for Nice N Crispy Bars. They try to use organic ingredients when possible so that's really awesome. Included in the box was also 2 aprons and 2 chefs hats which is so much fun for the kids to get into character.

Kenzie got right to personalizing her chef's hat and I whipped up a simple design for Mason's hat. The hat is adjustable with a sticker tab so it can accommodate even toddler size heads! The two aprons were different sizes so if you have a children a few years apart, it will be perfect.

After Kenzie was suited up to be my sous chef, we were ready to start. The instructions are clear and the visual addition is a nice touch for the younger children. What's pretty awesome about Cub Snacks is that the included ingredients are all pre-measured out so in addition to there being no waste at the end, it's much easier on your child to grab the ingredient and follow the instructions with no need to use measuring cups/spoons.

Kenzie got right into it with her hands and started combining the ingredients like a pro. I mixed the chocolate, peanut butter and coconut mixture in the sauce pan on the stove since I don't let her go near it....yet.

Once completely mixed, we patted it down into a baking pan. The Cub Snacks box also included the parchment paper - wow! Although it was recommended to use a larger pan, we like our bars thick so we went with a smaller square pan. Kenzie placed the pan into the fridge and waited patiently for 3 hours while the delicious bars set.

After playing, reading the included Fun Food Facts and taking the coordinating quiz, it was time to check on the bars and they were ready to cut and taste. Since Kenzie isn't allowed to use the big knife yet, I took the liberty of cutting up the slab. It was time for the taste test and Kenzie grabbed a bar and gave one to Hubs.

These earned a two thumbs up from both of them. They are light, crispy and have a hint of sweetness that is perfect for an afternoon treat. They pack up well in Kenzie's snack bag and last for 3 days in the fridge and up to 2 months in the freezer.

So it's easy to spend time on the weekend with your child(ren) and whip up a batch of whatever tasty Cub Snacks Box recipe you have. Your child(ren) can then enjoy through the week as snacks. Moreover, they can share with their friends and brag that they made them!

Cub Snacks Boxes are available for purchase as a one-time gift, monthly subscription, 3 month subscription and 6 month subscription (which is obviously the best deal).

    1. thanks Amanda, it was definitely our main focus. Pretty much all of the parents we asked preferred not having to buy a box, then have to buy more ingredients. So we thought it made sense to give parents everything they needed to bake out of the box.
