DIY Birdseed Summer Kids Craft | Fun Crafts with Mom

The sun is still shining strong here in Southern California so what better craft to make than one that celebrates the weather and nature. I can't believe I haven't done a birdseed craft with the kids so guess who had to remedy that stat? Plus I had ordered the cutest cookie cutters months (and months) ago but haven't had the chance to make cookies yet so they were finally taken out of the package for this fun craft!

Materials

Directions

1.  Bring water to a boil in a small pot and add the Gelatin. Stir until completely dissolved and let cool.
2.  Combine birdseed and gelatin in a large bowl and mix.

3.  Place wax paper on the table and put cookie cutters on top. Add the birdseed mixture inside and press down.
4.  Press the straw down into the mixture to create a hole for hanging.

5.  Place into the freezer for about 15 minutes and then let them dry at room temperature overnight.
6.  Add twine, tie and hang on a tree!

Kenzie and Mason both had a blast finding the perfect trees to hang these feeders at grandpa's house. These would also be fun to make as party favors if you use the small cookie cutters!

What kinds of last minute crafts are you doing with the kids?
