I’m a big foodie and I love trying everything and discovering new places and things to eat. I tend to have quite a few cravings and many times I find myself craving a burger or chicken sandwich. Unfortunately, I have found that places that cater to my cravings don’t always suit my kids in taste or nutrition. Fortunately Smashburger has a location near me to help my predicament.

Smashburger has always had a large selection of burgers, chicken sandwiches and even salads that my husband and I love. Smashburger’s menu has a variety of delicious meals for adults that my husband and I enjoy, but now with their updated Kids Meals I find it is a great place for the entire family.

Smashburger recently improved their Kids menu to include new better for you foods including Grilled Chicken Strips and Musselman’s Unsweetened Apple Sauce. These simple additions are great tasting and make me feel good to serve my children.

The Grilled Chicken Strips are all white meat with no artificial flavors or fillers. Smashburger seasons and sears the chicken strips in their own kitchen and are a delicious meal that is better for them. My kids love dipping the chicken in their choice of BBQ or ranch sauce and I love that they are happily enjoying a great source of protein.

Smashburger also added a new side choice of Musselman’s Unsweetened Squeezables, which is a single serve applesauce with no added sugar or sodium. The applesauce is gluten free, fat free, trans fat free and Kosher. Musselman’s applesauce makes a great pair to their chicken meal and my kids love having an after meal treat. I love that it’s something my kids can use themselves without getting messy, but most of all I’m very happy that Smashburger offers a great side that is better for them that they truly want and I don’t have to force.

Additionally, the Smashburger Kids Meals feature a choice of three drinks: Organic HONEST Kids Juice, Horizon Milk, or a fountain drink. I love that they provide an option that is better for them than the typical sodas or lemonade that kids meals provide. Organic HONEST Kids Juice uses fruit juice to sweeten and has ½ the sugar of competitor kids juices. It provides 100% of the daily dose of Vitamin C that is recommended.

The improved menu at Smashburger makes it a huge hit for our family. I love that they offer a great selection for us adults, but also provides a menu for my kids that is better for them. Best of all kids can enjoy an entrée, side and drink for an affordable $5.49. It’s wonderful knowing that there is great tasting and affordable meal that is better for you than other comparable meals and locations. No more having to go to multiple places to suit everyone in our family; now we can place one order and eat together.

Have you been to Smashburger? What do you look for in Kids Meals when dining out?

  6. We eat out a lot during this time of year as we run from one activity to the next. It's good to know there are good, healthy options for families on the go.

  7. I look for places that offer kids eat free but I'll take any place that has a fairly nutritious meal! The SmashBurger by us closed, so that's no longer an option.
