Mini Pinecone Pineapple Craft | Fun Crafts with Mom

I am counting down the days until we leave for Maui next month which means sun, relaxation and lots of fresh fruit, especially with shave ice. When we went on our weekly Costco run, the kids wanted a pineapple so I was inspired by this prickly fruit for this week's craft.

Materials:

Directions:

1.  Make sure pinecones are clean and free of debris if you've collected them from outside rather than purchased. Place on top of a piece of paper so as not to get your table dirty.
2.  Squeeze a bit of paint onto your foam brush and gently paint the ends/sides of the pinecone. Set aside to dry.

3.  Cut green construction paper into a rectangular shape. The size width should be about 1/2 the height of your pinecone and the length about 5"-6". Fold 3x and then take your scissors and cut about 3/4 down into a leaf shape.
4.  Open the paper so that it now looks like blades of grass attached at the bottom. Roll from one end to the other and use glue to adhere to the top of the pinecone. You can use your fingers to spread out the leaves.
5.  Display, play, pretend eat. Have fun with these!
