Itchy Sensitive Skin? Change Up your Laundry Routine Today #SecondSkincare #IC ad

I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for P&G. I received product samples to facilitate my review as well as a promotional item to thank me for my participation. All opinions and reviews are my own.

My kids have sensitive skin. They probably got it from Hubs. Since they were born, I've tried many different skincare products to remedy eczema, rash, open sores/scabs and more. The symptoms and relief were also discussed with the pediatrician. While the worst has passed and wounds have healed, the kids still have skin reactions occasionally but I've now discovered that changing my laundry routine has had a positive impact.

While I have been using P&G products for as long as I can remember, I never knew to switch to the P&G Free & Gentle products to alleviate negative skin reactions. The collection consists of Tide Free & Gentle Detergent/Tide Stain Release Free In-Wash Booster, Downy Free & Gentle Fabric Softener and Bounce Free & Gentle Dryer Sheets. I was excited to try these new-to-me products from trusted brands for the kids' weekly mountain of laundry.

The dye and perfume free products are simple to use and clean the clothes effectively. Let's face it, kids' clothing gets pretty grimy and stained on an almost daily basis. While I have been accustomed to tossing the truly destroyed, I get heartbroken over once worn pieces that come home stained. The Tide PODS Free & Gentle is pretty awesome. You just pop a pac into the wash and it tackles stains during the normal cycle without any dyes or perfumes. Let's just say many of Mason's clothes have been cleared for wearing again!

For extra softness, simply add Ultra Downy Free & Sensitive Liquid to the fabric-softener tray (often right next to the detergent tray) before each load. I've always avoided fabric softener but after having given this a try, it's now part of my laundry routine! I love it and it's so easy to use.

I also normally don't use dryer sheets for the kids' laundry (because of reading not to for baby clothes and it just kind of stuck until now) but was delighted with the Bounce Free & Gentle Dryer Sheets because they provide the freshness, softness and static control while being gentle on sensitive skin. Did you know that 87% of free detergent consumers use scented fabric softener/dryer sheets, which can cause irritation? No more static when taking the kids' clothing out of the dryer plus no more random itching throughout the day!

I now use these P&G Free products for all of our laundry loads to maintain a hypoallergenic, dye and perfume free routine which means itch-free all around and more time for play!

Do you or your family have sensitive skin? Have you thought about changing up your laundry routine to alleviate negative skin reactions?

  2. I've been using these products as well because my toddler has eczema and I used to use another very known detergent for babies but ever since I switched to Tide natural, he has been good with no flare ups :)

  3. My oldest son has very sensitive skin but I haven't tried any of these products yet. I'll have to pick some up the next time I run out of laundry supplies.

  4. My kids have allergies, which go hand in hand with all kinds of other issues like sensitive skin. I'm really anxious to try swapping out our detergents.

  6. I've always heard about skin problems with detergent. We're blessed to not deal with those issues, but I'm sure this brand would work well and probably be beneficial anyway! :)

  9. This looks like a wonderful product. I was raised up using Tide products, but had to stop using it when my kids were born. It's nice to know they are now catering to sensitive skin people.

  11. These are neato and although we have pretty rough and tough skin around here I'll be sure to share the word with my co-writer who has eczema in her family.

  12. I love the idea of using Tide Pods and NOT having to measure detergent. Now that they make them for sensitive skin, I'm even more interested in trying them!

  13. Over the past few years I have been removing all chemical laden products from our home and replacing them with "clean options". Finding natural, toxin free solutions that actually work as well as the ones that aren't has been quite a challenge!

  14. I have sensitive skin so I need to watch the laundry products I use. I love the Tide pods because they don't irritate my skin and they are so stinking convenient and mess free.

  15. Those Tide pods are so handy. I had no idea they come in a free & gentle version now.

  16. I have used all of those products with great success. The only con is the pods, I like being able to control the amount of detergent I use and those don't allow for that. Otherwise, I really like all those brands.
