Disclosure: This is a partnered post with Honey Bunches of Oats. All opinions are my own.
I have been a fan of the Honey Bunches of Oats cereal for as long as I can remember. It's super quick and easy to grab a bowl and eat it for breakfast. However, I never thought about eating cereal in a form other than straight out of the box until now. There is an awesome collection of recipes on the Honey Bunches of Oats site that you will be delighted to make this summer.
I decided to make the Caramel Balls because they are chock full of ooey gooey caramel which I love. It also was a quick and easy recipe that I could make after picking up the kids after work so that we could enjoy them as a snack!
Ingredients:
Directions:
1. Microwave caramels and water in medium microwavable bowl on high 1-1/2 to 2 minutes or until caramels are completely melted, stirring after each .
2. Stir in 1-1/2 cups of the cereal. With hands slightly moistened with cold water, shape cereal mixture into 21 small balls, each about 1 inch in diameter.
3. Crush remaining 1/2 cup cereal; place in shallow dish. Roll cereal balls in cereal until evenly coated.
The recipe makes about 7 caramel balls however I think I need to at least triple the next batch because they are that delicious! Hubs is a huge fan and I think I'll whip some more up this week and make giant caramel balls.
Have you thought about eating cereal out of the bowl? What are some of your favorite recipes?
