I love popsicles and cool treats, especially when the weather is dripping hot at 80+ degrees as it has been of late. However, several of my teeth shudder at the thought of the icy coolness coming into contact with them. So do I suffer and enjoy anyway? Or do I find relief before taking a bite?

Maybe because I've whitened my teeth a bit too much in the past or perhaps because my gums are exposed in areas due to excessive brushing, I needed some relief from the sensitivity to cool drinks and treats. I picked up the Colgate Sensitive Toothbrush and Sensitivity Pen from Ralph's to see if my issue could be remedied. Make sure to check your local Kroger (and Kroger banner) store's webpage for digital coupons!

When I went in for my last cleaning, the dentist told me that I should use soft toothbrushes to help with the sensitivity. The toothbrush portion of the Colgate Sensitive Toothbrush and Sensitivity Pen is designed with ultra soft bristles, ideally designed to care for sensitive teeth. After I brushed with my normal toothpaste, I applied the gel from the pen directly to my sensitive areas and massaged for about a minute. No rinsing is required and just pop the pen into the brush and store! The targeted, on-the-spot sensitivity relief within the brushing routine is provided by breakthrough Pro-Argin™ technology.

With several days of use, I noticed a difference when noshing on a popsicle. I didn't have as much sensitivity as before. I can't wait to get sensitivity relief 24/7 with continued use, especially since summer is coming up and many cool treats will be consumed. I've even gifted one to my mother-in-law for her teeth sensitivity.

I remember having the most amazing milk popsicles growing up and wanted to recreate them with a little twist.

Ingredients
  • 3 ripe bananas, peeled and sliced
  • 2 cups of fresh blueberries
  • 3 cups of vanilla soy milk
  • 3 tbsp. honey

Directions

1.  Combine all ingredients in a blender until smooth.

2.  Divide equally into popsicle molds.

3.  Pop into freezer to set.

4.  Run under warm water and pop out to enjoy!

*You can even make a super simple popsicle with strawberry greek yogurt, soy milk and honey!

Do you experience tooth sensitivity when trying to enjoy cool treats?
