What little girl doesn't dream of flying around like a fairy? Kenzie was so excited when I told her about the new movie: Tinker Bell and the Legend of the NeverBeast. Since she adores Tink and wants to grow fairy wings to flutter around, the anticipation was great. I picked up the movie along with coordinating party supplies to host a movie day for friends.

I love the idea of a fairy garden and wanted to create a party table that captured that essence yet had an emphasis on Gruff, the NeverBeast. There have been tissue paper tassle garlands showing up everywhere so I decided to make my own and it was really quick and easy! The longest part was hunting down the green tissue paper on short notice. A Tinker Bell party needs pixie dust which I just poured gold glitter into small glass jars and printed off a label and attached with twine.

Can you believe that I used to dread opening up a Pinterest account? Now I am addicted and found the cutest birdcage for fairies and wanted to recreate it for the party. Fresh flowers from my inlaws' garden and it was ready in minutes.

Fairy wands were made using loads of pink tulle on a gold spray painted wooden dowel with ribbons attached. The fairy houses Kenzie and I made fit in perfectly on the table along with the glass  apothecary jars filled with moss and more fresh flowers.

Morning Dew was served up in glass milk bottles with a black chevron straw. Thinking back, it would have been fun to have lined the rims of the bottles with fine green sugar!

Edible toadstools were made with string cheese and organic tomatoes on a vine with 1/3 of the bottom sliced off and held together with half a toothpick. I used icing in a tube to dot. Let's just say Mason got into most of these before the party setup so only a few made an appearance! I'm guessing they are very tasty.

How adorable are these HUGE Gruff sugar cookies? Can't have a Neverbeast party without them. They are the size of your hand and very tasty. Plus the kids got a kick out of eating his face!

I simply whipped up some Gruff treats: rice krispies + oreos + green m&ms on a black chevron paper straw. These were a hit because who can resist a treat on a stick?

How beautiful is this cake? It had glitter sparkling over the frosting and the small beading trim coordinated with Tink. The inside was beautiful as well being a lavender cake with strawberry filling.

Little details such as bird's nests, rounds of bark, orchid plant, fairy dolls and moss birds completed the party decor. It was so much fun to explore and play with everything on the table.

The DVD was easily found near the electronics department at Walmart among the other Disney movies. I picked up several Tinker Bell toys from the Toy department along with the Tinker Bell costume for Kenzie.

The girls really enjoyed the movie and although were afraid when Gruff turned "bad". they were sad that he had to go into hibernation at the end of the movie. This was our first time having the kids watch a movie with friends at our home so it was interesting to see that they were consumed by the movie and silently watched while noshing on snacks.

The 4.5 inch fairy dolls are a must for Tinker Bell loving children. The dress, shoes, wings and jewel are all detachable so they can mix and match too! Kenzie has been toting around her toys everywhere plus they make a great party favor!

The fairy magic in the movie inspired our craft - fairy magic bottles! Kenzie and her friends dream of flying and what better way to show a bit of flying magic than with sparkles and pixie dust floating and mixing in a portable bottle? This craft is really simple but provides loads of fun and entertainment.

Materials:
  • Voss Water Bottles
  • Water
  • Wilton Glycerin
  • Assorted Colors Spangle Mix
  • Green and Purple Glitter
  • Small sheet of paper
  • Elmer's School Glue

Directions:

1.  Remove the labels off the Voss Water bottles. They come off pretty easily and if you have any residue, just scrub off. Fill the bottles to the top with tap water (or you can use the water already in there).

2.  Add a few drops of glycerin.

3.  Add as much spangle mix as you want.

4.  Make a funnel out of a small sheet of paper and pour in the glitter. I've found that if you add more purple glitter, the water will turn a lovely shade of purple pink overnight.

5.  Lightly line the inside of the cap with the glue and twist onto the bottle.

6.  Let dry and then shake to see the magic appear!

Have you watched Tinker Bell and the NeverBeast? If not, pick up a copy today at Walmart and let get inspired with some fairy magic!

Do you plan themed movie night parties for the kids?
