I have a pretty hectic schedule with at least 2 hours spent in traffic commuting to and from work each day. Hubs and I have gotten into a pretty good routine even with his ever-changing employment status (he has switched companies almost every year!) and schedule. The day seems to just whiz by so I wanted to share my Top 10 Busy Mom Life Hacks to get through the day.

1.  Keep your bathrobe on over your clothes until you leave the house. I can't tell you how many times I have experienced spit up, drool or even plain old breakfast on my clothes before noticing the marks while sitting at my desk at work. Since it's not convenient for me to race home and change, I make do hoping people won't notice.

2.  For breastfeeding moms, pump while you drive! Since I had a fairly long commute, I would squeeze in an extra pump while sitting in traffic. Just pop the milk bag into insulated cooler and baby has an extra serving! It did help that my pump was quite small and portable.

3.  Have Diaper/Wipes Stations on all Floors of Home. I live in a 3-story home. I have long since decided that although sprinting up and down several flights of stairs multiple times a day may be good for my butt, it's not worth making my kiddos wait for a change. I'm kind of odd like that. I like to change a diaper as soon as I know it is dirty!

4.  Shower at night. This is essential. Sometimes I'll squeeze in a refreshing shower in the morning when I wake up an extra 10 minutes but on most days, it's a quick shower at night which allows me to air dry my hair. You can use dry shampoo in the mornings if you are iffy about the cleanliness of your hair.

5.  Make kids slippers non-slip by adding hot glue to the bottom. You can make it fun by writing out their name!

6.  Lay out clothes for everyone the night before. This saves tremendous time especially when I have to leave early for work and Hubs is the one dressing the kids for school and my mother-in-law's house. When the weather is 50s in the morning and 80s in the afternoon, Hubs tends to dress the kids for the afternoon weather! I'd rather just do this one more task in the evening for my kiddos' sake.

7.  Set Up Auto-delivery of baby essentials. Many offer free shipping and an extra discount for the subscription so it's awesome to not have to worry about running out of diapers with a blowout at hand - or literally in hand.

8.  Run Errands During Lunchtime. I hit the craft store, grocery store, shopping mall and more during my lunchtime. I grab a quick bite to eat and spend the rest of the time getting things I need. Then I don't have to take time away from the family for such tasks which are much quicker anyway without Kenzie wanting to "check out" everything.

9.  Have Snacks on Hand :: All.The.Time. You never know when the kids will get hungry so make sure to have snacks on hand. I like to keep the Honey Maid Go Bites on the counter for after-school snack (before dinnertime) and in the diaper bag for outings. Wholesome and tasty bites that Mason just can't resist after running around the playground. Yes, he even eyes and goes after Kenzie's Go Bites!

10.  Pick up a few Ready To Heat meals from the market for weeknight dinners. Hubs usually picks up take-out on most days for dinner as well as cooks maybe once a week. On the other days, I'll pop a ready to heat meal into the oven for about an hour when I come home from work and it'll be ready once Hubs comes home from work. It is such a time saver and as close to home-cooked without slaving over the kitchen. I'd rather take the 1-1.5 hours and play with my kids, listen to Kenzie's latest song, bake with the kids and more.

Do you have life hacks that make the day that much better? Please share!
