We just hosted Thanksgiving for the first time ever this year and it was amazing despite minimal seating throughout the house. I wanted to update the playroom since the kids are growing up and they need more seating for when their friends come over to play (as well as relatives for the holidays) plus it was time to declutter again. The Metro Futon from DHP Furniture was the perfect fit for the space.
A modern design with clean lines and low to the ground meant kid-friendly. The durable microfiber upholstery was put to the test the night we assembled the futon (really easy with a handful of screws) because Mason took crayons and scribble scrabbled (Kenzie's words) all over the cushions! Let's just say I was a bit frantic as the light crayon color was everywhere. I rushed downstairs and grabbed some baby wipes and voila - in a matter of minutes- I scrubbed out the crayon marks.
The futon seat itself is firm, which is a must have when you have kids who love jumping and climbing. I don't want a frumpy piece of furniture with indentations of bottoms smack in the middle. The Click Clack technology is genius because it means that you can easily transform from futon to sofa bed in no time at all for overnight guests and even for impromptu naps.
I would love to add a storage ottoman from DHP for the kids' playroom so that some of the toys can be "hidden" when not played with. The kids have really been enjoying their new futon and can't wait to have their friends over!
