being MVP: DIY Glitter Fridge Magnets #FunCraftsWithMom

DIY Glitter Fridge Magnets #FunCraftsWithMom

When we were house hunting, Kenzie would check out the kid's area at each open house. One thing that she kept pointing out were alphabet magnets on the fridge. I remember playing with these growing up and have been meaning to get them for her since then however, you know, life gets in the way and time passes. So finally, I picked up a packet of magnets but wanted to make them a bit special with a little gold and glitter :: I mean who doesn't love gold and glitter?

  • Package of Alphabet Magnets
  • Gold spray paint
  • Gold Glitter spray paint

1.  Take letters out of package and place them on grocery bags (or other paper so you don't get paint on the ground).
2.  Lightly spray the gold paint onto each letter, covering on all sides.
3.  Allow to dry for a few hours.

4.  Spray two coats of glitter spray and let dry overnight.
5.  You can opt to use regular glitter in lieu of the spray and then coat with some mod podge.
6.  Voila - ready to start spelling words on the fridge!

  1. I like this and it's so easy to do. I'm going to bookmark this craft project so I can do this with my granddaughters. Thanks :)

  2. These look so much nicer than the original letters and it's nice that it does not take very much effort.

  3. What a neat and so easy idea! This would be great for my grandson.

  4. These are so pretty and look so much nicer than before. This is a fun craft to do and make for my niece. She would love playing with these when she comes over!

  5. What a wonderful idea! All kids love those letter magnets but they can look very messy left all over the fridge with those bright primary colors. Never thought to use plastic pain to jazz them up!

  6. Amazing idea!! Love gold and glitter myself too!! Id even add a jewel or some sequins!! I have lots of time on my hands lol!!

  7. I've never thought of painting these magnets, but that would be really fun!
