being MVP: Double the Impact with World Vision and Thirty-One Gifts on December 2, 2014 #GivingTuesday

Double the Impact with World Vision and Thirty-One Gifts on December 2, 2014 #GivingTuesday

Disclosure: I received a sample. All opinions are my own.

During the holidays it is important to think about others as well as your own. World Vision and Thirty-One Gifts will be holding their 3rd annual #GivingTuesday on December 2, 2014. For the first 3,100 donations made by phone (1-888-511-6588) or online (Worldvision.org) to World Vision on Giving Tuesday, Thirty-One Gifts will donate a Hope Kit tote filled with hygiene supplies to a woman or girl in need in the U.S.

On #GivingTuesday every donation made to the Christian humanitarian agency World Vision will make twice the impact by combating poverty in one of the 100 countries where World Vision works and helping a woman or girl in need in the U.S. get back on her feet with a Hope Kit.

Each kit is filled with essential hygiene supplies such as a toothbrush, shampoo, hairbrush soap and a special note of encouragement.

Poverty in America is real and affects millions of vulnerable women and children every day. The Shriver Report on Women in America, released in January, provides a bleak outlook of the financial state of women and children: 1 in 3 American women -  42 million women, plus 28 million children - either live in poverty or are right on the brink of it.

Do you donate more during the holidays? What do you think about the #GivingTuesday event?

  1. I need to remember to make a call on Tuesday. Thanks for telling me about this great cause.

  2. I love #GivingTuesday! After a long weekend filled with shopping, it's a great way to remember to give back. We give all year, but definitely more during the holidays. The kids pick out food and toy items for a local kids' shelter. I didn't know about this campaign with 31 and World Vision - how great!

  3. I haven't done Giving Tuesday yet because I've always been traveling on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. I had no idea about the GivingTuesday event that World Vision does with Thirty One gifts. I'll be checking it out.

  4. I haven't done actual giving tuesday but we always give at Christmastime. I feel it's important to teach my sons to do the same.
