I have a pretty busy day waking up before 6 am and getting the kids ready for school/grandma's and then leaving the house at 7 am to make it to work by 8 am. After a long day of work and another 1 hr commute to pick up Kenzie at preschool, I then head over to the inlaws house to pick up Mason. Depending upon if Hubs will be late from work, I'll take the kids to grab dinner and play at the playground. Needless to say that I oftentimes don't eat myself because I am so busy watching the kids or grab a few fries in between feeding them. I found the perfect on the go snacks that I can toss into my bag and nosh on that are more nutritious than my usual findings.

The Life Choice Meal Replacement Bars that I picked up from Walmart come in appealing flavors like Peanut Butter Crunch and White Chocolate Pretzel. These taste almost like a dessert - one that you don't have to feel guilty about after finishing. They are easily found in the cereal aisle. At 160-180 calories each, these are perfect for giving your body the necessary nutrients while not zapping away at your daily calorie intake with fillers. There is a whopping 10g of protein and up to 6g of fiber in each bar which Hubs is a fan of. I like that there are loads of vitamins packed in because I'm not very consistent with taking my daily vitamin so this way at least my body gets something good.

When I don't eat, I usually don't stay hydrated either. It's a vicious cycle that happens a wee bit more often that I would like to admit. I love coconut water and since I like to flavor my water, I thought why not create fruit infused coconut water to take on the go with my nutrition bars? It's really easy to create and tote around in a travel drink container so that I can stay hydrated while running after the kids.

PRINT RECIPE

Ingredients
  • 1 liter Pure Coconut Water
  • 2 lemons
  • 3 limes
  • 1 bunch of mint leaves

Directions
  1. Thoroughly wash lemons and limes. Pat dry and then slice into 1/4 inch rounds.
  2. Fill pitcher halfway with ice.
  3. Put lemons, limes and mint leaves into pitcher.
  4. Pour coconut water over the ice and allow everything to infuse for several hours.
  5. Grab some fun glasses and enjoy!

Toss a few nutritious Life Choice Meal Replacement bars in your bag along with a travel cup full of delicious fruit infused coconut water to keep your body satisfied when you are on the go. I even keep boxes stashed at my desk at work!

Do you find yourself famished while chasing after the kids? Do you tend to grab something like a donut or pretzel to tide you over? Have you thought about stashing some meal replacement bars like Life Choice in your bag for such situations?
