I have to admit that I am that parent who thinks their child is the best and every little moment and achievement they accomplish deserves praise. Kenzie is now slowly getting into her own and her personality is shining through like the star she is. I believe that celebrating your child for the little things and small moments that may only be shared between the two of you creates a special bond and gives them encouragement for success.
Kenzie loves to dance and sing and while technically she isn't some sort of genius or prodigy, I love her performances and clap like her biggest fan. She is also learning to read and I give her high fives like they are going out of style whenever she finds sight words...in her books, on my Kindle, on my phone, on outdoor signs and more. I am positive that these precious moments of bonding with my daughter will only give her the confidence in her academic and social future.
How amazing would it be to go to a hospital that is dedicated towards giving you extraordinary care no matter if your visit is routine or rare? Stanford Children's Health and Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford has been the top-ranked children's hospital in Northern California for over a decade. They are the largest healthcare provider with an exclusive focus on children and expectant women. What amazing facilities for you and your child(ren)!
When I pick up Kenzie from preschool on Fridays after work (I leave 1.5 hrs earlier on Fridays), it is mommy and daughter date time. We go to the playground, grab some snacks, make ice cream, splash around with water toys, ride bikes and/or do some toy shopping. I cherish these moments, although short, because I am truly focused on her without Mason. She loves singing me the new songs she learned at school as well as showing off her new dance moves. Check out this fun personalized video I made of special moments I captured of her.

What small moments do you celebrate with your extraordinary kid?
I try very hard to celebrate each child's moments even though they are older now.
ReplyDeleteI really try to focus on the day to day small accomplishments with my boys. I try to make them feel special.
ReplyDeleteI celebrate my girls each day and hope that the more time we spend together the more they will cherish those times as they get older.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter struggles with a lot of learning disabilities. So every time she learns something new; or lets her personality shine through even with the difficulties in her communication; those are the little moments we like to celebrate!
ReplyDeleteMy goodness she is adorable!!! She sounds like she has a fun personality!! We don't have any kiddo's at moment. Always fun to read posts like this!
ReplyDeleteI love writing down all of my special moments so I'll always be able to remember them. What a cute little girl you have!
ReplyDeleteWe went for ice cream on the twins last day of kindergarten. they were so happy I thought they'd burst!! :)
ReplyDeleteI just enjoy sitting back and listening to them practice their instruments. They practice every day because they want to, not because they have to.
ReplyDeleteIt is so important to celebrate life with our kids. My daughter is 16 and we are so close and I tell her all the time how special she is and how much she contributes to the world.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweetheart! Way to go on pushing the reading. I'm sure she's going to be quite the smarty pants.
ReplyDeleteI was going to start a journal for my kids to do this but a video is such a better way to go, love this idea!
ReplyDeleteI have always tried to celebrate the little moments in my kids' lives. It's the little moments that add up to big ones in the end!
ReplyDeleteWe've had a long week at VBS this week so it was nice to come home tonight and snuggle on the couch with my girls!
ReplyDeleteThat's so neat that you have that special time with her each week! I'll bet she really looks forward to it!
ReplyDeleteAwe... I love that you spend that time making memories with your little one. Thankfully I am home with the kids all the time, so we do things all the time, but sometimes it is nice to spend time one-on-one with each of them... they love it and so do I!
ReplyDeleteLove that you celebrate the amazing things about your kid. What an adorable picture!

ReplyDeleteI have baby #2 on the way so I take as many moments as I can to hold my first baby and tell him I love him. I want to remember every moment I can of him at this stage and him being my only baby.
ReplyDeleteMy kids are going fast they grow so fast that you can't keep up sometimes LOL
ReplyDeleteEvery milestone that my children reached, or everything new that they learned was special to me and I will always remember it. It is nice to have some alone time together with each child to enjoy.
