Educational Insights | Diggity Dogs™ Game and Kitten Caboodle™ Game + #Giveaway

Disclosure: My cousin received two games from Educational Insights for review. All opinions are her own.

My daughter received two games from Educational Insights, Kitten Caboodle and Diggity Dogs.  These two games follow the same format and instructions; the only essential difference is the theme.  Kitten Caboodle and Diggity Dogs are matching games, that work in a similar way to ‘Go Fish.’  Each game comes with seven pets to adopt.  In Kitten Caboodle ($14.99), each of the seven cats’ cards displays three items that cat needs, such as a scratching post or a brush.  In order to adopt a cat, the object of the game is for players to collect the three items, such as a bowl, food, and a bed.

The games are both designed for ages 4+.  My six year old daughter was really excited to receive these games.  She loves animals, and she will often engage in pretend play with her stuffed animals, imagining that they are pets up for adoption at an animal shelter, or vet’s office.  She thought the cat/dog characters in Kitten Caboodle were cute and she was delighted to learn all of their names.  The winner of the game is the one who adopts the most .  Diggity Dogs and Kitten Caboodle are both intended for 2-4 players.  Just like in Go Fish, players ask each other for cards, “Do you have a bone?” and if the other player says no, you can draw a card from the pile.

My daughter thought it was a lot of fun to figure out what each dog needs in Diggity Dogs ($14.99), such as a ball or a bone.  Her favorite character was Chloe, the King Charles Cavalier Spaniel.  I thought that these two games would be perfect for entertaining my daughter in the summer.  She just had her last day of kindergarten, so I’ve been looking for different things to keep her busy over the summer.  These games are great because they don’t take too much time to play; sometimes my daughter and I only have a 20 minute window of time for a ‘big kid’ activity while baby’s napping.  I love Diggity Dogs and Kitten Caboodle because they can be played indoors on a rainy day and are compact enough that they can easily be brought along on a playdate to a friend’s house.
