Disclosure: I received the following for review from EcoLunchbox. All opinions are my own.
I like to try being as eco-conscious whenever possible however sometimes my old habits kick in and I fail. This is mainly shown when I toss paper products and plastics after just one use. EcoLunchbox has come up with a fantastic alternative to my habit with their plastic-free lunchboxes.
The ECOlunchette Kit is great for those who pack lunch for work. I used to be really good at it but then slacked off once I had kids. I need to get back into the habit because not only will it save me money in the long run (as opposed to eating out everyday), it is going to be a bit healthier as I am controlling what I am packing. You can choose the color of the purse-style lunchbag fabric and type of container. The lunchbag comes with a coordinating fabric napkin which you can easily toss into the washing machine after use (even the lunchbag can be washed). Can you imagine how many napkins you will be saving? I received a large oval container with a yogurt cup. Although it looked small from the outset, after I started filling it I was surprised at how much one could fit. The yogurt cup is the perfect size for a side of fruit or veggies.
Kenzie loved using the unique EcoLunchbox spork. It is a spoon on one side and a fork on the other and the perfect size for little hands. It is rad and her teacher inquired about it when Kenzie was using it on her field trip. I think I'll have to pick some up as a thank you teacher gift!
The Blue Water Bento™ Splash Box™ Kit ($35) is perfect for kids' field trips. It is an eco-friendly version of the paper brown bag with an adorable screen print. The stainless steel container has a plastic-free silicone lid which is leak-free and easily opened by small hands. I love that these are also easy to clean and do not absorb odors.
Mackenzie is thrilled with her new "bento box" and wants me to make her some more creative lunches. Off to Pinterest I go to hunt down some ideas!
What I love about EcoLunchbox is that you can mix and match the lunchboxes to create your own customized kit. They are also great to give as teacher gifts!
