I have suffered from allergies since I was a child and have taken various medications to alleviate the symptoms. I have even taken Chinese herbal root elixirs. The weather here in Southern California is very fickle so that an allergy attack can come without notice and is the worst when I am sitting at my work desk. My eyes start to water and I have to hold by my incessant sneezing until I step away into the restroom to fix myself up. It's so difficult walking back to my desk with semi-puffy eyes without my coworkers inquiring whether I am ok. I assume they think I have been sobbing away.

I am a huge advocate of ZYRTEC® allergy medication because it provides 24-hour relief and starts working within hour 1 of taking it. This is a must have when random allergy attacks occur at my desk during the middle of the day. It's so simple to just pop a tablet and get relief quickly with ZYRTEC®.

To help combat the ALLERGY FACE®  (beauty challenges such as red nose, puffy face and watery eyes) we suffer, ZYRTEC® has teamed up with celebrity makeup artist Jamie Greenberg (@JamieMakeup on Twitter) to create six makeup looks for us to look our best.

Some of her beauty tips for allergy sufferers are:
  • Color correct redness by dabbing on a green-tinted concealer and then dab skin-colored concealer over the green. Contour with a highlighter by lightly shading features to make them look symmetrical.
  • Fill in lash line with dark brown liner. Your eyes will look open and awake. I'm going to have to carry a liner around with me at all times!
  • Make eyes pop with blue mascara which helps eyes look whiter, more awake and draw away from a red nose.
  • Finish your face with bronzer for a skin-kissed glow that will leave any redness behind.

I am definitely making sure to implement these tips to look fresh-faced and flawless during the allergy season.

What do you take to get relief from allergies? Have you thought about using different makeup techniques to look your best during this season?

  17. Believe it or not I have never thought to use makeup to cover my 'allergy face' before but it kind of makes sense! Although I'd be a little worried about eye liner or mascara since I have so many issues with itchy, stinging, watery eyes.
