Chasing Paper | Black & White Stripe Accent Wall {DIY} + #Giveaway

Disclosure: I received Simple Stripe panels from Chasing Paper for review. All opinion are mine.

I am obsessed with home design shows and would love to one day build my house from the bottom up. Ok. Not literally but I would like to choose all the details with the contractor. Until then, I am a Pinterest and wanted to imitate an accent wall. Black and white stripes are so bold yet classic. Check out how I created this amazing accent wall in my bedroom which made it go from blah to awe with minimal effort.

I have professed many times my love for wall decals which require minimal work with great impact. Chasing Paper just blew my mind when I first browsed their site. The designs are fresh and the possibilities are endless. What's unique about Chasing Paper decals ($30/panel) is that they come in a 2x4 size which makes installation over large spaces really easy. No more fumbling to try to peel and stick with arms contorted while trying to come up for air from beneath the backing that falls over your head. They arrive safely rolled up in a tube and you just slip out and can start the application.

My bedroom walls are plain and a boring shade of cream. I chose the corner wall in my bedroom that is closest to the window to get the makeover. I started at the bottom with aligning the removable wallpaper to the left. When I got to the electrical outlet, I simply cut out a small hole with scissors and then placed the cover right over it and screwed into place. The hole does not have to be cut with finesse as the cover will make it look clean once back in place. I debated spray painting it gold but left it white for now. Maybe in the future?

I had to use Kenzie's step stool to reach the top and then eventually moved to the larger step stool for the top panels. I then measured the remaining area on the right. I used a pencil, scissors, measuring tape and a dvd to cut out the panels to fit. It was extremely easy even though I was apprehensive at first. My lines were not completely straight but Chasing Paper is very forgiving and looks fabulous regardless.

The visual effect of the accent wall is just stunning. Who knew that our bedroom now has a bit of oomph. I just smile whenever I look at it and that is often. It also makes a great backdrop for taking photos of the kids. I like that when you smooth it over your wall, it takes on the same texture so it really does look like a custom paint job.

There are many different patterns and designs to choose one to fit your personality and room. The Chasing Paper decals are really versatile as you can use it not only for your walls but also as decor/art, backsplash, wrapping paper, furniture and appliance embellishment and more. I just love Chasing Paper and would love to decorate our other rooms.
