Twigtale Personalized Book + #Giveaway

Disclosure: My cousin received a Twigtale book for review. All opinions are her own.

I recently had my third child, so I was looking for a way to help my older two ease into the transition with a new baby joining our family, so I decided to create a book on the Twigtale website.  The book is called “I Have A New Sibling” and it is designed to help children adjust to the changes that come along with a new sibling.  When I went to create our book, I found the Twigtale website to be very user friendly.  I have used other sites in the past, but Twigtale seemed to be so simple for me to quickly upload my photos and put my book together.  They gave me a list of what photos I would need to complete the “I Have A New Sibling” book, such as a picture of baby crying, a picture of baby sleeping, etc.  So I went through our photos and found everything I needed; there were only a couple that I had to actually take new pictures to fulfill.  All of the books on the Twigtale site tell a story, so most of the text is already completed, and I just had to fill in my children’s names, but customers are able to personalize to some degree.

There were many different categories available, such as books that deal with self esteem issues, or books that focus on anxiety.  With so many to choose from, parents can find what they’re looking for to meet their child’s specific needs.  I looked in the Family Changes category for a book about a new baby that I could customize.  I didn’t show my kids the book I was making until it was actually delivered.  They love receiving packages, and they were thrilled when we opened it up and they saw the photo of them on the cover. The photos came out very clear and vibrant.  My daughter recently learned how to read, and she was excited to read the book to her younger siblings all by herself.  She immediately curled up on the couch with the book with her little brother in tow.  They loved pointing to the pictures in the book and talking about them, remembering what we had done/ where we had gone that day from when the picture was taken.

My favorite thing about Twigtale was that I was able to choose the format for each page, so I could choose if I wanted only one photo or two, and the text would automatically adjust accordingly.  This was perfect for me because I was designing the book for both my son and my daughter, so I had the option of including a picture of each of them separately, or a picture of the two of them together.  My daughter was excited to see her name in print in the book.  The story itself was adorable, and I loved the part that talked about specific things that the older child can do to help mom with the new baby.  It is a softcover 8.5” x 8.5” book with 24 pages. The book talks about how things will change with a new baby in the family, and highlights the differences between things that the older sibling is able to do vs the newborn.  The overall theme is that our family’s love is growing bigger with the new addition.

Twigtale has many topics ranging from divorce to adoption.  The stories used are scripted by child development professionals, so the language will be very helpful in communicating with your child during a period of transition or adjustment.  With three kids now, I do not have time to be spending hours creating a book, so I appreciate the quick process laid out by Twigtale.  It was nice that most of the work was already done for me so I could just insert our personal details rather than coming up with what I was going to say on my own. Plus, next time, the process should go even faster, because now that I created an account, my photos are saved if I want to use some of the same photos in a future book.  I will definitely recommend this book to my other mommy friends.  I showed my mom and she was excited because she lives out of state and is always looking for fun things she can send to the kids.  One of these books would make a perfect gift from grandma, for example “Who Loves Me?” or “Loved.”  Instead of putting a package together, she can just customize a book from her own computer and ship it to us.  I am looking forward to creating a little library of Twigtale books for my kids to read.
