Talk to a Doctor with No Wait Time for Free

I really get frustrated when trying to schedule an appointment with my doctor, especially when they usually have availability only during my peak work hours. If and when I do get an appointment that is semi-close to the usual lunch hour, the travel time plus wait time (in addition to the appointment) makes it very unappealing to even go. Even my OB appointments were 10 minutes maximum (after the 30-45 minute wait time) so I really don't understand why the entire doctor visit isn't more streamlined to appease patients who actually have scheduled appointments.

Since it's Spring and I want to get advice on changing my diet to be healthier, I was excited to speak to a nutritionist on American Well since my current lifestyle changes weren't quite making the impact I had in mind. It only took a minute to enroll at American Well and then I selected a doctor who was in my area. These are board-certified physicians who are able to speak with you in real-time and you can even face time with them.

I connected with Christina Cavanaugh, Nutritionist, and inquired regarding how best to change my dietary lifestyle without sacrificing my penchant for sweets. I didn't want to drastically cut back as I was doing for a couple weeks by torturing myself with close to a 1,200 calorie diet day. Mind you, I usually eat 2,500-3,000+ calories a day normally. I love that it was so easy and quick and the information provided was great. She even gave me sample meal plans and I've even started a food journal. I guess I can up it to 1,600 with the same goal in mind woot!

What's neat about the visit is that you control the convenience and reliability without sacrificing the personal aspect of getting one-on-one advice for your specific needs. No more having to wait in a crowded room with sick people which has an even worse impact when toting your healthy kids on your appointment. The American Well doctors are available 24/7, 365 days a year in the comfort of your home and/or office. There is even a free app so you can access the doctor while on the go.

The site is safe and secure and American Well is HIPAA-compliant so your health information will be available only to you and your doctor. The notes from your visits can be shared with your primary care physician or specialist, which means that everyone stays informed for continuous care.

What are some of your peeves when trying to get in to see your doctor? Do you get antsy when you are in a time crunch? If you are frustrated about the wait time and scheduling at your doctor's office, give American Well a try with a free doctor's visitUse the coupon codeSPRING and start asking away!

  2. I think there are several sites doing this. With it being so difficult to see doctors these days (or even find doctors) I'm pretty sure this is going to be huge.

  3. This sounds like a wonderful idea. I, for one, hate having to go to the doctor's office and wait and wait and wait in their waiting room.

  5. This sounds great. I'm always looking up things on the internet and searching different apps to help with health and nutrition. This is great to get some professional answers to questions that the net can't always provide.
