It is rare that I get to treat myself to a mani/pedi often and even when I go, I get frustrated because I almost always chip my nail the very next day. The trend now is to have fabulous designs and colors so I was excited to attempt using Jamberry Nails.
After looking at the official youtube video, I was ready to tackle the application of my first nail wrap. Armed with my Application Kit, I decided I would try the arrow with etched leaf detail first. You first wipe your nail with the alcohol pad then gently push back on the cuticle. Peel off the Jamberry Nails wrap that best fits your fingernail size and cut in half. Heat the wrap for about 3 seconds with the mini heater (or hairdryer) and then press onto your nail. Round it out and then cut the excess off with the nail scissors/nail clippers. Keep pressing down and applying a little heat. Take a nail file and file downwards to get the edge clean. Voila - ready for the next nail. My first attempt took awhile but by the third time, I was getting quick at the application.
Even after a week of wear with washing my hands an extraordinary number of times as well as washing dishes, playing with the children, etc., my Jamberry Nails looked stunning. Only a bit of nail growth showed as well as a bit of fraying at the nail edge. So many people have commented and were shocked to know that I was wearing "stickers". A co-worker immediately ordered and is loving her Jamberry Nails!
The possibilities are endless and the combinations can be as wild as your imagination. It's easy to take these off as you just apply a little heat and gently peel off starting from the edges. I have been changing my nail style on a weekly basis and I am in love. My nails grow a bit healthier under the wraps and my man hands look more girly. No need for smelly nail shops or listening to someone bad mouth you in a different language. These Jamberry Nails can be applied on your toes as well - my next attempt! If you get really savvy with your application, you can stretch out each sheet for more than 2 full applications.
You can share in the fun with your daughter as Jamberry Juniors are perfect for their small nails. Kenzie was excited to get her sprinkle on but later became impatient so she peeled them off her nails and put them on her toes for the remainder of the week.
The rep I am working with has an amazing, heartfelt story on why she is working with Jamberry:
All profits from my Jamberry Nails business are going into a savings account to pay for the adoption of our son Kervens from Haiti.
In the summer of 2008, I met an orphan named Kervens while on a missions trip to Le Cayes, Haiti. I felt right away that he was meant to be my son, and began the process to adopt him. Unfortunately, I was still in the early stages when the adoption laws changed and I no longer met the minimum age requirements. Everything came to a halt. For the past 6 years, my husband and I have been paying for Kervens’ care and schooling as he lives in a foster arrangement with a Haitian pastor and his wife. In the spring of 2015, I will turn 30 (the magic age!) and we will be able to re-start the adoption process. Kervens’ adoption will cost around $30,000. Thank you to everyone who has supported my Jamberry Nails business, for helping us get one step closer to bringing our son home!
