Disclosure: I received the following bag from TWELVElittle for review. However, all opinions are 100% my own.
I love bags. It's odd because I would never carry handbags/purses and always delegated a friend to hold my necessities. However, something changed once I got married and I just love them and that love has carried over to diaper bags. TWELVElittle is a wonderful company that offers diaper bags that are functional yet has a clean and fashionable design.
As much as I love a tote/satchel diaper bag it is more convenient, with a mobile toddler, to carry a backpack. The Unisex Courage Backpack ($215) from TWELVElittle is perfect for the modern parent who wants a bag that is multi-functional and can be used beyond the diaper stage.
From the onset it doesn't look like the typical diaper bag. The water-resistant crinkle nylon with sheep leather trim is accented with a multitude of zippered pockets for easily accessible storage. Don't let the fairly compact size fool you because so much can be loaded inside: diapers (I usually take around 4-5), wipes (the Costco package), several pacifiers, bib, hats, sunglasses, sippy/straw cups, bag full of snacks and 4-5 pouches, Aquaphor tubes, socks, sunscreen, coupons/gift cards, lip balm, extra clothes and more!
I can easily stash it under the stroller or hang from the clip. The neutral color is daddy friendly and there is even a padded sleeve inside to stash and iPad or laptop. The two side bottle pockets are large and can accommodate different sized bottles. It's also easy to reach in and grab in a hurry when your child is thirsty. I like that Kenzie can open/close the Courage Backpack to access items I need for Mason. She can also access her own snacks :)
As you can see, this handsome bag is easy for Hubs to carry around and the padded shoulder straps and back panel is a plus for a long day out. I also love using this TWELVElittle bag when out with the kids on my own. I can easily take what is needed while keeping my hands free to keep my kids safe. This will also be perfect for when I have to fly cross country with both kids to visit my mother.
Did you spot the adorable Dragon Dangle ($39) hanging off my bag? If you recall Mason's birthday party post, you will have noticed the Dragon Tower I made out of beans. Although we are not Chinese (I'm asked a lot if I am), we have always used their Zodiac calendar when identifying our birth year. I'm a sheep, Kenzie's a cow and Hubs is a Tiger. The dangle is well made out of leather and can essentially be attached with it's ring onto anything that has a loop. My bag is extra special with the dangle, especially since there is meaning behind it.
The TWELVElittle story
"The story goes: An ancient emperor invited all the animals to a legendary race across the river. The first 12 animals to complete the race would have a permanent place in the calendar as a prize. Every animal represents one year of the 12-year cycle based on the Chinese zodiac. The year the person is born determines their animal sign. Our 12 Little Wonders key chains are small reminders of what animal we represent, and thus, what special personalities you and your family individually carry."
Check out my favorites above. How amazing with the Allure Weekender be as a carry on?
