being MVP: Kinderfeets Balance Bike + #Giveaway

Kinderfeets Balance Bike + #Giveaway

Disclosure: I received the following balance bike from Kinderfeets for review.  All opinions are 100% my own.

Doodle doodle doodle. I have allowed my kids to play with chalk (only in the laundry room where one of the easels is set up) and let's just say that I am learning to extend my patience. So when Kenzie saw the chalk accompanying the Kinderfeets balance bike, she wanted to open it up right away! I said she would have to learn how to ride the bike first.

It was relatively easy to put together with the included tools and Kenzie was ready to ride in less than 10 minutes. I was surprised that I didn't have to put the seat on the lowest setting (because Kenzie is so little). Kinderfeets is designed for children 2-5 years old with the seat setting ranging from 13 to 16 inches high. Although Mason is constantly pointing to this bike, he cannot yet reach the ground (at almost 18 mos old) but likes to cruise with his feet on the pegs while I hold and push. Tragic on my back but to hear the laughter coming out from his mouth is just priceless.

"Derived from the Dutch for “children” and “bicycle,” a Kinderfeets is a wooden push bike ($108.95 + free shipping) designed to ease the transition to pedal-powered bicycle at a toddler’s comfort level."

This bike weights about 8 lbs and is relatively light enough for one to carry back when one's child gets tired after a trip around the neighborhood. The tires are made of biodegradeable rubber which is pretty neat because you don't have to inflate them with a pump nor will they go flat.

There is a natural option for the Kinderfeets balance bike but the water-based chalkboard finish is so modern and fun. We went with the classic black but it also comes in a rainbow of choices such as blue, green, pink, red and yellow.

Kenzie was super cautious but after some time, she got the hang of it. She even lifted up her feet and balance for seconds at a time. She didn't want to wear a helmet but hopefully once she gets faster, she will put on her helmet and zoom zoom.  This balance bike is one of my favorites because it has the foot pegs for your child to put their feet on while cruising. I keep telling Kenzie that if she gets scared, just to put her feet square on the ground.

Check out this video.

A must have with a balance bike is a bike stand ($16). Since there isn't a traditional kickstand, when you are ready to put your bike away, you need to lean it up against a wall. This has proved tragic for some of Kenzie's prior bikes as they seem to get knocked down. The Kinderfeets bike is secure and safe when stored on the bike stand.

Kenzie has loads of fun riding her Kinderfeets balance bike and I think I'll let her doodle with chalk next week!
