How to Make Glitter Ornaments ::Kid Friendly Craft:: {Tutorial} @OrientalTrading

Disclosure: I received the following items for review from Oriental Trading. All opinions are my own.

We have our first real fake Christmas tree this year that is larger than 1.5 feet. Yes we have been using a small white tree for the past several years just due to space and then safety for Kenzie. Now that she is older and Hubs was in the holiday spirit, he bought a huge tree which needed ornaments. We bought some basic ones with glitter and unbeknownst to me, it made a huge mess - especially when Mason was yanking them off the tree and they started rolling around on the floor! I decided we needed a remedy and Oriental Trading sent just the tools for review that would make the perfect, mess-free ornaments.

Kenzie was ready to get her craft on when we woke up on a rainy Saturday morning and since Hubs went to a race, I set up the table for some fun.

Supplies:

Easy Shake Premium Glitter Set
Metallic Glitter Glue Set
Mini Clear Christmas Ornaments
Clear Ornaments
Twine
Wood Floor Polish such as Pledge (I found an off brand one that worked just fine)

Instructions:

Fill the shakers with the glitter. Some packs contain more than others so you can just save the excess. Lay a paper bag or craft paper down on the table to catch the excess glitter. Open up the clear ornament (it's nice that it comes in two pieces which makes it easier for kids to work with.

Pour some of the floor polish inside and swirl around until fully coated. Open the ornament and pour some glitter inside. Kenzie was a pro at this! Close and make sure that the glitter gets around the entire inside then empty the excess glitter out. String a piece of twine through the hole on top, tie and you are ready to hang!

Another fun ornament to make using glitter is with mini ornaments and glitter glue. Just open, squeeze into whatever design you want, close, tie some twine and voila - ready to hang.

These ornaments are easy to make and so much fun for little tots. Kenzie had a blast and is already geared to make some more for her friends. The mini ornaments are also great to use to embellish gift wrapping.
