being MVP: Give with Purpose This Holiday Season + Giveaway!

Give with Purpose This Holiday Season + Giveaway!

My cousin received the headband for review and here are her thoughts.

When I first heard about the World Vision Catalog, I was really excited to find a way to incorporate charitable giving into our holiday gift giving this year.  Sometimes it is difficult to make a monetary donation to a charity, so I figured this would be the perfect opportunity to focus on giving back, seeing as how I am going to be spending money on holiday gifts regardless.  The World Vision Gift catalog has over 250 items that help to fight poverty around the world.  Donors have a wide variety of 30+ handcrafted gifts from around the world that can be chosen for a loved one while at the same time helping a person in need.  I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to have a conversation with my daughter about how there are other children around the world who do not have the same opportunities as her, and how important it is to acknowledge the urgent needs of families that might otherwise go unaddressed.  I received a stunning hand-woven headband made in Guatemala.  I love my new headband, not just because I feel good knowing that I've made a difference in someone’s life, but because it is simply beautiful.  This stylish 100% cotton headband is so unique that I am constantly getting compliments on it everywhere I go, which is a perfect opportunity for me to introduce my friends to World Vision’s gift catalog.

Holiday gift giving can get a bit hectic with so many people to shop for.  I dread going to the mall during this season with two kids in tow.  Now I can shop online from the comfort of my own home in my pajamas after the kids have gone to bed.  Buying unique gifts from World Vision catalog is special because it is more thoughtful and purposeful than simply picking something up at the mall.  And it gives us a chance to spread the message to others.  We are already spending money on holiday gifts, so why not help families in need simultaneously? World Vision catalog has many items to choose from, such as jewelry from Kenya, ornaments from Nairobi, and even a plush goat for the children on your list.  I adore my new headband.  I love the bright colors.  I like that the fabric is soft and stretchy.  I enjoy wearing headbands, but often times I buy a headband to later find that it is uncomfortable to wear or that it gives me a headache after a while, but this headband from Guatemala was perfect for me.

World Vision Gift catalog also serves individuals in need within the United States.  They help in many different areas of need such as education and job training.  Gifts with an impact within the US include school supplies, clothing, and disaster response supplies.  World Vision Gift Catalog is the perfect solution for everyone on your list because donors have the choice between sending a handcrafted tangible gift or sending a card letting the recipient know that something special has been purchased in their honor, such as a goat or a chicken.  I will definitely be purchasing most of my gifts this way this holiday season.

  9. Every year, our family buys gifts for two needy families. We buy gifts for the parents and their children and provide them with Christmas dinner and an additional grocery gift card. I love it so much when we make our deliveries on the day before Christmas in the afternoon. The families have no idea that we are coming and we have so many incredible memories. We all take part in the shopping, wrapping and delivering. This year will be especially wonderful. A father lost the use of his legs in an accident and their son had meningitis. They have had a tough year and hopefully our gifts will bring some happiness into their lives. In the other family, the parents were both recently laid off from the same company when they closed their operation here in our city. They both have two children. We have been shopping for a while and are having a lot of fun. Thanks for the great giveaway opportunity. Keep up the terrific blogging.
