Mason is just in a hurry to get anywhere and everywhere. He is now full on walking but still with a bit of hesitation. That means if we don't hold his wee little hand, he may take a tumble or drops to his knees to walk. Since we have a huge area of tile, I was excited to receive the SoftTiles for review that was personalized just to my liking! The foam play mat is large and customizable to fit any decor or color scheme.
Since most of the toys are super colorful, I wanted a neutral yet still childlike palette. I worked with the SoftTiles' designer and decided on a gray, black and white tile background with a splattering of elephant and giraffe die-cut mats. The foam tiles are pretty cushy being 5/8" thick. I can't feel the tile floor beneath these foam tiles. The texture allows for little feet to stay stable while dashing around. I laid out the pattern according to the proof - super easy to connect and finish the borders. I do have to ward Kenzie against pulling up on the puzzle pieces because she just wants to take them apart for fun. Note: You can use tape to keep the die-cut animals in place.
I am thoroughly impressed by the quality of these tiles. We have been using them for awhile now and they still look and feel new. Have you seen all my photos in my posts with this amazing mat? The indentation from jumping on the trampoline pop back to normal after a short during once I move it and when crumbs appear on the mat, I just run the vacuum right over and in minutes it is like new again. Mason took his first full walk across the SoftTiles mat and has also taken several tumbles. I always tell Hubs to keep him on the SoftTiles mat when playing and really want to cover the entire house in SoftTiles until Mason is about 3 - probably not reasonable do you think?
Gone are the days of tacky small mats that wear down within a short period of time. SoftTiles has modernized safety for little tots with their designer children's play mats that can be used in any room of the house. SoftTiles are great for little babies as well because they are made of non-toxic EVA (ethylene vinyl acetate) foam. They are also completely waterproof - yes you heard correctly - I am going to have to clean off our balcony and get some SoftTiles for the kiddos to play out there rather than keep them closed in for fear of falling on the concrete. I also want to get some for my inlaws home as they were impressed with our SoftTiles mat. The design possibilities are almost endless as SoftTiles offers 2 different sized foam tiles as well as alphabet, flower, circle, square, dinosaur, and wood grain decor pieces.
