I have been on a donut kick lately and although my belly says no, my morning drives to work say yes. There are so many fancy donuts that are being offered and I wanted to try making them myself. King Arthur Flour, for review, sent me just what I needed to whip up some delicious sweets.
Bacon has been quite popular for some time in all sorts of foods and I was curious to see how bacon would pair with donuts and I found the perfect recipe on the King Arthur Flour site. It seemed relatively easy to follow so I hit the market to purchase the remaining ingredients.
OMG. These are so delicious without being overtly sweet. There's a hint of maple that is rich that complements the moist donut. It perfectly crumbles in my mouth with the crunch of bacon inside the donut as well as the crisp bonus pieces on top of the glaze. My kids love these and I already have requests to make them again.
The King Arthur Flour is easy to mix by hand and I am going to have to create some variations on these donuts!
