Conquer Fears with Fobie Friends + Giveaway!

I haven't quite figured out the things that Kenzie is scared of because her fears change daily. When she went in the bounce houses during the night, she had a blast and went on the highest slide with just the slightest hesitation. However, the following day we went to play some more and she she could see the dirt and minuscule bugs on the floor, she freaked out and I had to haul her out. Fobie Friends was created to tackle these childhood fears in a fun and friendly manner. We received a trio of books for review and Kenzie couldn't wait to start reading.

The first book she grabbed was Hold Your Seahorses! Water is the WORST! In this well illustrated book, we follow the journey of a little girl who goes on a trip to the beach and conquers her fear of the water through her imagination. Kenzie actually has this same fear and will only play in the sand when we go to the beach - opposite of Mason. Although she loves the pool and bath, she somehow is terrified of ocean water - even the clear blue waters of Kauai! Kenzie enjoyed the story and made me read it to her 4x in a row.  She is intrigued by the monsters of the sea and it's her favorite part of the story. I am hoping she dips her toes in the next time we hit the beach.

The Did My Owl Just Growl? and Climb the Monkey Bars? That's Bananas! books are just as enlightening of how to conquer common fears of children. These books beautifully illustrate how children use their imagination and ability to open their minds to go beyond their fear and find a way to see that there is nothing to be scared of. Kenzie and Mason both enjoy listening to these stories every night.

  35. This is a great idea for a book series! I like that they have t-shirts with the owl on them - for slightly older kids, this could be a good way to remember the fear-conquering skills they've learned when away from home! My 8 year old son is afraid of the dark.
