My kiddos have been super moody during bath time until the bath toys came for review from Nuby. We received an assortment that included the Bath Letters and Numbers, Sea Scooper, Tear Free Rinse Pail, Tub Time Turtle and Squid Squirter.
It has been a nightmare giving Mason a bath recently because he just cries, makes his body straight so you can't seat him and/or stands out of his tub before I finish washing him off. I tore the Nuby Tub Time Turtle packaging and handed it to him as soon as I started taking his clothes off for bath time. He was intrigued and did not even notice as I lowered him into the water. I was doing the happy dance in my head. As soon as he was in, I took his hands and showed him how to lift Tub Time Turtle out of the water so a waterfall would stream down. He was delighted and ran his hands under the waterfall. He had a grand ole time and loves this toy in and out of the water. I like that it is colorful, sturdy and provides amusement. Mason has claimed it as his own and won't let Kenzie play with it and even teases her with it when she is taking a bath by leaning down to put his turtle in her bath water.
We can't leave my princess Kenzie without a bath toy so she took over the Bath Letters and Numbers immediately while I gave Mason a bath. These foam letters and numbers are so much fun because in addition to being a pure toy that sticks on the walls when wet, it allows preschoolers to learn how to spell. Kenzie enjoyed spelling her name on the tub wall (minus the last E) and wanted to spell various words. These foam pieces are pretty light and do not degrade even when accidentally left in sitting water. We need to purchase some more so Kenzie can get her spelling on! Mason doesn't spell yet but does mimic Kenzie by trying to stick them on the walls. It's so sweet watching him trying to do everything Kenzie does.
Case in action with the Squid Squirter. Kenzie didn't know what to make of it at first other than it just being a toy. When I showed her how to pump water into the squid and push to squirt, she was a pro in no time. She squirted away and baby giggles abounded from the bathroom. This is a fantastic bath toy that is easily portable from bath to pool. When Kenzie leave it unattended, Mason takes over but can only play with it as is. It is colorful and attractive to tots and the handle is perfectly sized for their hands.
Just until recently, Kenzie freaked every time water was poured over her head to rinse shampoo. Who knows why because I have always tried to be cautious and pour water away from her eyes but perhaps it was Hubs haha. The Nuby Tear Free Rinse Pail is nice because the edge is soft and pliable allowing it to be soft when touching your tot's head. I like the large size as I have been using an infant pail to rinse. The handle is easy to grip. Kenzie even helps me out and wants to rinse herself.
After all this bath time fun, clean up is a must. I have to admit that both bath organizers from Kenzie's and Mason's baby showers have been unused due to epic failure to stay put on the bath. I was pleasantly surprised that the Nuby Sea Scooper uses 3M tape to keep the hook on the wall! No need for unreliable suction cups on the actual pail. Just scoop all toys into the whale's tummy and watch all the water drain as you turn him upright for placing on the hook. I love this whale pail and is a definite recommendation for any sort of toy sanity in the bathroom. The capacity is large and it's cute to boot.
