Ubbi: The Can of Steel

What to do with the dreaded dirty diaper - - this is the question pondered by most parents, especially with the explosive diapers.  To buy a pail or to just use the regular trash can?  I was always of the thinking that a pail was necessary because who really wants to walk out to the trash with each stinky diaper - especially in the middle of the night.  I was ready to put the Ubbi Diaper Pail received for review to the test.

The Ubbi diaper pail is definitely aesthetically pleasing.  The gray color went well with Mason's room and it was simple to start using right away.  I just lifted the front tab, placed an ordinary kitchen trash bag through the center of the bag holder, inserted into the front tab, then closed the top.  It is then ready for use.  Unlock the childproof safety lock, push down and slide open door, quickly place diaper inside, close, then lock.  I have been using this pail for a while now and there is no funky stink in the nursery when I am rocking Mason right next to the pail.  Whereas before the Ubbi arrived, I was using several other brands that started stinking up his room even when closed.

Unloading the pail for trash is super easy as you just lift open the cover, tie bag, pull out of pail.  However, be forewarned that the stench will make your stomach curdle - well at least mine.  I usually leave the task up to Hubs since I am "allergic" to the stench of poo :)  Even though the upfront expense of the Ubbi would seem a bit much compared to other brands, the long run will definitely save you money as you do not have to invest in brand specified bags.  I can tell you that I spent well in the hundreds for the bags we purchased from Kenzie's birth until the arrival of the Ubbi.  This is a must have for the baby nursery!

Cloth Diaper mamas don't fret because there is a cloth pail liner that you can use with the Ubbi.  There are also decals to spruce up your pail to coordinate with your nursery.  I adore the Orange and Hot Blue pail colors (Go FL Gators!) - how fun would it be if you had a bold room to put these in?

Buy It:  You can purchase the Ubbi diaper pail for $79.99.

  9. Ugh. I have had so much trouble with diaper pails that we don't even have one any more. I will definitely be telling people about this one! Nice to hear about something that actually works well, and I LOVE that you don't have to buy specific bags to put in it!
