I love watching home decor/improvement shows and trying to imitate the decor in my own home. Although I love the way Mason's nursery has turned out, there was something missing. I saw a neat Chevron wall that I wanted to recreate but since Hubs and I are not painters (remember how I told you we still had blue tape up from the bathroom paint job 4 years ago?), I was excited to receive the Chevron pattern wall decal for review from DezignwithaZ. I love decals for the simplicity of making walls come alive. Moreover, I was pleasantly surprised at how simple it was to create this modern and chic pattern on the wall.
Materials
Keep proceeding until the entire wall is complete and if you need extra length or height, you can just cut extra decals and continue the pattern. Continue until the entire wall is covered then use the scraper to smooth over the decal once or twice until it is firmly stuck on the wall.
I absolutely love the way it turned out. During the entire process (which took a wee bit of time) Kenzie kept on exclaiming that I was doing a "good job" and that Mason "is going to like it a lot". The effect is clean and modern plus it is also a great backdrop for photos!
DezignWithaZ has a fantastic variety of decals as well as custom options. You can find something for every room on your home!
Materials
- Measuring Tape
- Chevron Pattern Wall Decals in your specified size and color
- Credit card or scraper (provided with decals)
- Patience
Instructions
Unroll the wall decal and trim with scissors around the chevron to whatever size you are comfortable with. I first attempted with 3 in a row but that ended up in disaster and bubbles so I ended up going with single rows thereafter.
Since Mason's walls were painted a slate blue color, the white chevron decals seemed to pop. I love the option of previewing the decal on your wall color. I started from the left side of the wall and started smoothing the decal onto the wall with the included plastic scraper while peeling the backing off. After applying several rows, I decided to peek at my progress and had Kenzie help me peel off the transfer tape.
Keep proceeding until the entire wall is complete and if you need extra length or height, you can just cut extra decals and continue the pattern. Continue until the entire wall is covered then use the scraper to smooth over the decal once or twice until it is firmly stuck on the wall.
