Little girls love to play with dolls and HABA has brought the beloved German luxury doll maker, Götz, to the U.S. Kenzie received Elisabeth for review. Götz dolls are truly cherished toys.
In 1950, Marianne Götz handcrafted beautiful dolls while her husband, Franz Götz, would sell them from a wagon he pulled with his bike. Six decades later, the second generation of Götz family members is still running the show; and these two prominent companies have come together to sell their adored doll line to American children ages 3 and up. For generations, the magic of a Götz doll was its extraordinary hair, sculptured face, trendy clothing and its soft fabric or vinyl body. Their superior quality and design still remains a favorite of doll lovers and collectors today.
Kenzie immediately took to Elisabeth right out of the box and especially was fond of her umbrella. She opened it up and pretended that it was raining. I then showed Kenzie that the brunette hair could be styled and brushed. We need to pick up a doll size brush for her to use with Elisabeth. The hair looks natural and is rooted into the scalp and they did not skimp with the volume. There are some awesome doll hair styles on HABA's youtube channels that we are going to try out.
Since Kenzie wanted to take her on a walk, we headed outdoors with the stroller. Elisabeth has a soft body with movable arms and legs and easily sat on the stroller for the walk. The face is delicate and surprisingly lifelike. So much so that when I sat her in the corner of our bedroom, Hubs actually freaked out haha.
Kenzie thoroughly enjoys playing with Elisabeth and being her mama. The clothes are nicely made and have an "East Coast Hamptons feel" as Hubs describes and Kenzie can easily swap out the clothing with other standard 18" doll clothes. The 7 Piece Ballerina Doll Clothing Set is on Kenzie's wish list as she attends ballet class at preschool and wants Elisabeth to as well.
This is one truly spoiled doll as Kenzie rocks her, puts her down for naps and even enjoys hugs and kisses. Even Mason likes to get in on the action and tries to hold Elisabeth's hand. Did you catch the photo I posted on my facebook wall?
The Götz line of dolls truly fits in with HABA as they represent history and tradition in a beautiful product. The collection includes Muffin, Aquini, Cosi Aquini, Maxy Aquini and the Precious Day Dolls as well as accessories and outfits.
I am so glad that Kenzie has a unique and special "friend" to grow and play with. I hope to add to her collection as she grows.
