It's taken some time but Mason's nursery is about 98% complete! He has his own room in our new home so it was a joy to put together a space for him to grow and play in. He has Kenzie's old crib, his Delta dresser, Gallery Direct Elephant Canvas Art, new Babyletto rocker (gift from my brother) and other fabulous toys/decor that are just his own. We replaced all the carpeting with wood floors which keeps our home a bit more allergy friendly.
I love how the room turned out and although it still needs a little more tweaks in terms of decor, Mason seems to like it (I think). Kenzie likes his room so much that she always wants to play in it and wants me to put Mason on the ground. However, since it's hard and cold, I don't want to put him down. Mohawk came to the rescue with the beautiful Anton area rug.
Mason's room is painted a slate blue color and there are variations of blue throughout. I chose the Anton rug because although it features a floral motif, it's modern and the colors are rich. The cream background blended well with our dark espresso wood color while the flowers popped. The blue flowers tied the entire room together. The effect is a warm and inviting nursery. Can't you notice the difference?
The Mohawk rug isn't super thick but plush enough for Mason to eventually crawl on. Although the backing is not slip-resistant, it doesn't budge or move around without me physically pulling to rearrange. The approximate 5' x 8' size works perfectly for Mason's nursery (maybe 11' x 11'?).
There hasn't been any pilling yet which I just hate - little bits of rug fluff. It seems very durable and will withstand lots of play.
