Himalayan Salt Lamp & Giveaway!

I first saw a salt lamp on the backseat of my friend's car... years ago.  He said his mother gave it to him.  I thought it was strange carrying around a "rock".  Fast forward and now I am the proud owner of a mini salt lamp from Himalayan Salt Shop.  It is made of natural crystal salt mined from underground salt mines in the foothills of the Himalayan Mountains.  Wow!   

So from my readers I initially found out that salt lamps were great for allergies.  I was stokked because guess who's allergies have been in full force and effect?  I immediately read the directions, put together my lamp (insert light bulb into bottom of rock) and plugged it in. 

The lamp itself is heavy (4-5 lbs) so use caution when moving it.  It is set on a wood base.   I kept it on throughout the night and it emits a soft glow.  I did notice my allergies calmed down.  It may be because the salt lamp draws dust and other particles onto the rock.  I noticed there were little dark bits stuck on the rock.  It is easily cleaned with a damp cloth.      

 

The salt lamp cleanses the air naturally so I am all over it.  I would like to get the animal shape salt lamps for Kenzie and Mason.  There are also varying sizes dependent upon the size of room.  The mini is perfect for a 8x8 room.
