When Kenzie was an infant she screamed and cried every time I gave her a bath. I thought it was due to the tub combo we had or my washing skills or lack thereof. One of the things I wanted to do differently with Mason was give him a positive experience with bathtime right off the bat. I brought home the bin he had his first bath in but he outgrew it quickly. Since the infant support for Kenzie's tub was not available at the time, I purchased the same baby tub I had with Kenzie (since FIL tossed hers). Somehow, Mason was still apprehensive about baths although he didn't full out wail. I was excited to receive the Blooming Bath for him to try out.
The Blooming Bath is a plush insert made of naturally antibacterial foam. It can be placed in a sink as well as the tub/baby tub. I don't like the idea of bathing in the kitchen sink so I decided to try it in the tub. Our bathroom sinks are a bit small and with Mason's current size, it would not have been pleasant to use it in there.
The Blooming Bath is fairly large with all the thick petals and fit right into Mason's tub. I tried it in Kenzie's tub but since it is a big rectangle shape, the Blooming Bath's petals just lay flat and did not offer as much support to Mason as I would have preferred. However, in Mason's tub, the Blooming Bath provided great support and comfort to Mason.
Mason was not laying in a pool of water but rather the foam soaked up the water in the bath when I poured it over him during his bath. I lathered him up quickly then rinsed and then whisked him out to dry. I then squeezed the petals that were full of water and hung it on the bath tub rod to dry (the housecleaner's idea). It is quite heavy from all the water that is absorbed so make sure to get some help while wringing it out. It can also be tossed into the dryer for several minutes to help pit dry quicker. This is easy to use and clean and Mason is more calm since I've been using it.
