One of my concerns of having a summer baby was exposure to the sun since they are not allowed to use sunscreen. Mason has pretty fair skin like his papa so it's crucial to keep it that way :) He usually falls asleep in his carseat so when we transport him in and out of the car he is exposed to the sun. I was excited to try the Infant Comfort Canopy from Brica.
This canopy is a definite must have for every parent with a baby in an infant carseat. It is easy to use and protects your baby from harmful UV rays. The key point for me is that it has a Retractable UPF 50+ rated sun cover that blocks 98% of UVA and UVB radiation. This is fantastic because not only does it fully cover your baby from the rays, you can roll it back into an attached zippered pouch to reveal a full mesh fabric which keeps out bugs! It fits easily on most brands and does not hinder the use of the handle. It also comes with a handy carrying case. Just the other day my MIL told me that Mason was exposed to the sun coming through the car window. He is fully protected now!
We don't vacation often but on those special occasions we need a safe place for the kiddos to rest and sleep. Kenzie was a co-sleeper so we didn't really have an issue when traveling with her however I am adamant about not starting that habit with Mason (I'm doing well so far) so he needs a place to sleep when we go to hotels. I've heard that most hotels provide a crib but I am a bit wary about germs so the fold 'n go travel bassinet will be useful.
We are headed to my first blog camp this weekend and taking Mason with us since he flies free! The travel bassinet is super light (less than 3 lbs) and quickly opens/closes with the Safe-T-Lock system.
It includes a mattress pad and sheet which is washable. The mattress pad is a bit thin for my liking but I can pad it with swaddles for Mason's comfort. There is a carry handle on top and it is so compact that it easily fits into the suitcase.
Mason seems to be comfortable in it and I have peace of mind knowing that he isn't touching/exposed to anything dirty when he needs to rest. This would also be great at the beach if you have a little one but don't want them to just lay on a towel on the sand.

ReplyDeletevery cool... i especially like the travel bassinet. Baby can easily nap anywhere :)
ReplyDeleteLove the canopy - I could use that here in Florida - right now I'm using a UV blocking blanket but this looks so much better!
ReplyDeleteI love the travel bassinet it would be perfect for trips with a new baby!
ReplyDeleteI am also a big fan of this travel bassinet. It doesn't take up a lot of space and is light weight. I used it to go to Florida also along with a minky blanket from Go Mama Go Designs. It was the perfect pair for my daughter to sleep great when we were away. Minky blankets are affordable boutique style baby blankets by a company called Go Mama Go Designs. My daughter was resting safely and comfy with both these products.
ReplyDeleteThat travel bassinet looks perfect to use around the house! Great idea~!
ReplyDeleteI love that the comfort canpoy blocks the harmful UV rays!!
ReplyDeleteI liked the fold away bed
ReplyDeleteThis is so useful. I could use it when I go over my moms.

I love the bassinet! So much more compact and portable than a pack n' play. My little one refuses to cosleep (too easily stimulated) so we always need to take something when we travel...this would be so much better than our pack n play!
DeleteThese look so handy! I love how portable and functional they are!
ReplyDeleteI love the bassinet--it'd be perfect for the grandparent's house!
ReplyDeletethis would be so great for traveling

What a great idea so the baby can stretch out and still be in their own space when travelling.
ReplyDeletethat bassinet would be great for baby boy
ReplyDeleteI love the comfort canopy! What a great way to protect your baby from the sun, and EVERYONE at Target who insist on touching him!
ReplyDeleteBoth of these products look great and either one would come in very handy since we just had our baby girl. Thanks for the input!
ReplyDeleteI could see using the bassinet when we go to our friend's house for the day. It would be much better then having her nap in the car seat.
ReplyDeletei wish i had one of these for travelling. my parents have a 2 story house and it was such a pain when DD was younger and we would have to haul the pack n play up and down the stairs twice a day.
ReplyDeleteIt'd be so handy to have a travel bassinet when we go on short overnight trips!
ReplyDeleteSome things are good. Some are great. Then comes this blog.
