My1story & Giveaway!

Kenzie's library is getting use nowadays because she actually wants to read and we have started the bedtime story ritual.  I know it's a bit late in the game but hey she just started sleeping in her own bed!  I love reading myself and remember fairytales being one of my favorite reading sources when I was younger.  They let your imagination soar to another world.  My1story has tapped into a wonderful niche where classic stories are retold in a non-frightening fashion.  We received the Lil' Riding Hood and Wolfie: I love Cake! book and coordinating plush. 

 

 

 

 

 

The hardcover book itself is physically appealing with the large size (10x10), pleasant pastel colored illustrations (by Jaime Rodriguez, a former Walt Disney Company character artist) and easy to read font.  The storyline is varied a bit from the original turning the big bad wolf into a friendly baby wolfie and riding hood is wearing pale pink rather than red.  The left page of the book features the story line while the right shows the illustration.  This makes it very easy for Kenzie to follow.  She has even started reciting lines from the book!

 

 

 

 

 

The coordinating riding hood plush is too cute.  Since it matches a character in the book, Kenzie can make the connection and tangent off onto her own stories with just the plush.  She now brings her plush along with the book for her bedtime story.  The plush is also used as a pillow haha.  She first has Hubs read it to her while in the living room then I had to read it to her again in the bedroom.  This is not a book that will give your child scary dreams but rather pleasant and sweet dreams.  I try to be cautious in what Kenzie sees and hears because I want her to avoid nightmares, if possible.
