Mamas & Papas: Sola Stroller

A sleek and easy to use stroller from birth to toddler (50 lbs) can be found in the Mamas & Papas Sola.  We received it in the Denim option and have been using it exclusively since it landed at our door.  It was simple to assemble taking less than 15 minutes.  Kenzie was excited and wanted to immediately take a ride asking if it was her new stroller.  I had to break it to her later that it was actually Mason's.
The Sola weighs approximately 22 pounds making it easy for me to use.  The denim fabric is oh so chic and the colorful stripes just pop.  The slimline design is enhanced by the ability to change direction of the seat.  Mason and Kenzie both enjoy napping in the stroller since it lies completely flat (also great for changing Mason's diapers when there is no changing station available).  It is a one-handed recline which makes it simple in not disturbing sleeping baby/tot.  This is the first stroller that Kenzie asks to ride in when she gets sleepy - thank goodness!  Many trips to the mall have been pleasant because she will just sit then fall asleep after lunch instead of the usual crankiness and going wild.  Mama can shop in peace!
The 5 point safety harness is easy to use/adjust and the bumper bar will come in handy to dangle Mason's toys on when he is able to sit up more.  Kenzie doesn't like the bumper bar so we keep it off right now.  The front and rear suspension allow to a super smooth ride over curbs, grass, uneven pavement and cobble like grounds.

We have taken the Sola to the shopping mall, the park, on an airplane, through Vegas casinos, restaurants and more.  It glides easily through doorways and crowds.  When Mason is in the stroller, Kenzie asks when it is going to be her turn.  Since she never asks to sit in a stroller, I put Mason in a carrier and Kenzie gets her wish.
The canopy is just a delight to look at from Mason's perspective.  I love how there is a surprise of color underneath.  People actually stop to admire and ask what stroller I am pushing.  There is a toy loop on the canopy and since Mason has started to look around and focus, I put a toy on there for him.  It's large and shields a good amount of sun since we are still experiencing oddly warm weather here in Southern California.  I also like the window so I can check to see if Kenzie has fallen asleep if she is forward facing.  It's easy to pop the seat off to change direction.  Just lift up on the sides and pull up.  So simple but a bit difficult if a toddler is sitting in it because of the weight.  With Mason it's a breeze but I usually have him facing me so that's not an issue.  The handlebar easily adjusts by pushing in the two inside buttons to accomodate shorter people like me (5'6") and taller persons like Hubs (6'1").
Since Mason usually falls asleep in his carseat I purchased adapters for  the Sola and it has been a lifesaver.  Just take the carseat out of the car with sleeping baby and pop it onto the minimal frame and off I go.  The underneath storage basket is spacious as it accomodates a large diaper bag, baby carrier and several shopping bags.  The brake is super simple as you just push down on the pedal on the bar behind the storage basket.  It is definitely flip flop friendly!  A raincover is included although I have yet to test that out since it hasn't rained (besides a few sprinkles).  *It rained when we went to the pumpkin patch this weekend so I had a chance to whip it out.  It was so easy to use - just cover the stroller and use the elastic to snap around frame on both sides.  Mason was protected from the unexpected sprinkles and the accompanying rain.  I wish a cupholder was included but that's a minor additional cost so not a big deal.

Closing the stroller is not exactly one step but easy nonetheless.  Just push the knob on the right side of the stroller and lift up on both tabs and push down - takes mere seconds.  It takes up minimal space in the trunk of our SUV.  The Sola is an excellent lightweight stroller that packs a punch for its value.

The Sola has additional accesories that you can purchase including a bassinet, parasol (love!), stroller liner, maxi cosi carseat adapter and more.
