Zoom Zoom with Zum Balance Bike & Giveaway!

Learning how to ride a bike is one of the joys of being a child.  Zum Balance Bikes allow your child to develop their coordination and balance before moving onto the real thing.  Kenzie was sent the Zum-CX last year.  [They have been very patient by allowing Kenzie to grow into her bike]

However, she was a wee bit small for it then and refused to wear a helmet until the other week when she saw a boy at the park wearing a helmet and zooming along on his scooter.  She immediately came home and wanted to wear her helmet and ride her bike

The Zum-CX is made of 100% wood and the main frame is reversible to allow smaller riders to engage in the fun.  The bike was fairly easy to assemble (tools included) and the rubber wheels came inflated which was nice.  The handlebars feature rubber grips so as to allow little hands to grasp it without difficulty.   The seat is nicely padded to cushion little bums.  The seat height is adjustable from 12 to 17 inches from the floor so there is plenty of room for growth and years of fun to be had.

As I mentioned above, Kenzie was excited about her bike so we took it outside and got her onto it asap.  She hopped right on and started pushing off.  The bike is light so it was easy to maneuver but turning took some effort since she was unfamiliar.  On previous occasions in the house, she would hop on and I would hold onto the back of the bike because she was still a bit apprehensive.  However, on that glorious day Kenzie gained self-confidence and wanted to go off on her own.  Since my mother was visiting Kenzie had a bit of cheerleading going on the sidelines.

The recommended age is 2+ and the bike can accomodate children up to 50 pounds.  Kenzie is 32 months old and about 24 pounds so she still has much fun left on her Zum-CX.  We are working toward the balance feature of her bike.  I'm sure she will get it soon!

Zum also offers several different models of balance bikes to suit your child's preferences.  The Zum-SX would be awesome for Mason when he reaches that age.

Buy It:  You can purchase the Zum-CX for $99.99 or check out Sams.com, Costco.com, Amazon.com and even Ebay.com for better deals!
