Since Mason is not eating solids yet, I asked my cousin to review Baby Cubes for her son, Royce and here are her thoughts:
When my daughter was a baby, I made all of her food homemade. I would freeze it in an ice cube tray so I would have individual size servings that I could easily take out of the freezer as needed. But I have always had issues with freezer burn since the food is uncovered. I was excited when I found an ice cube tray with a lid I thought I had solved that problem and I also liked it because I felt like it was more sanitary. But I was still having issues with storing the baby food. I tried putting all of the cubes into a gallon size ziploc or a large tupperware, but they would always get stuck together. Now that I am on my second child and making homemade baby food for my son, I have finally discovered the perfect baby food container, Baby Cubes by Petite Creations.
They each have their own individual lid so they can be stored in the same container that they were originally frozen in, no need to transfer. Also, they come with their own storage tray. I cannot say enough about the storage tray. First of all, they are stackable, so unlike the ice cube trays where I couldn't have them on top of each other, you can stack up several trays in your freezer.
Also, the trays have a label where you can write expiration dates and /or contents of the cube, which are easy to wipe off and use with a dry erase marker. The cubes are 1 ounce each and there are 8 in a tray. There are also bigger sizes available, they also have a 2 ounce size and a four ounce size. And the really cool thing is that you can mix and match sizes on the same tray, for example, you can combine two 4oz containers with four 1oz cubes on the same freezer tray.
Baby Cubes are dishwasher safe, microwave safe, and freezer safe, which makes reheating and cleaning a lot easier. I really love that the lids are attached to the cubes, they don't actually come off, so it's easier to wash them and not have to worry about losing the little lids in your dishwasher or matching them up again later after they're dry.

ReplyDeleteI currently make all of my little one's baby food, and am so proud to say that he has never been fed a jar of commercial baby food a day in his life. These Baby Cubes would make such a wonderful addition to our food making stash, and would be so helping (especially in transporting the food when we need to go out). I really enjoyed reading about the materials in these cubes, and was happy to see they are very baby safe. Thanks so much to the company for posting that information for parents, as it is very important.
ReplyDeleteI learned that if you drop the container then you can't use them, which I find odd. It should say (in my opinion) discontinue use if there is any damage.
ReplyDeleteIt's safe for the microwave!
