I didn't know how important it is to have moisture in the air, especially for a child. Since Kenzie was born in the winter, the heat was on full blast and there was an additional heater next to her crib. This resulted in a bit more dry skin and probably congestion (my memory is failing). Moreover, as she became older, I noticed her waking up with dry, crusty nose at times and runny nose at other times. We decided to get a cool mist humidifier and both problems resolved! It also helped me wake up without a dry throat. Although Bean is born in the summer, the air is still dry with the running of air conditioning so I was delighted to receive the White Drop Humidifier from Crane for him.
The Drop Humidifier is stylish and sports a clean design. It is easy to fill (I use distilled water) and runs for up to 24 hours. You can adjust the mist volume by turning the large knob on front. I usually leave it in the middle. It also automatically shuts off if the water runs out (I love this feature). This one humidifier is perfect for 250 square feet. It's also whisper quiet! Another great feature is that this humidifier doesn't need a filter (saves $)!
Benefits of a Humidifier:
- loosen nasal congestion
- ease dry coughs
- soothe itchy dry skin
- moisten chapped lips
- prevent nose bleeds
- helps with overall cold and flu symptoms
- cool mist is best for croup
Cleaning your humidifier (once a week) is super easy: 1 part white vinegar to 2 parts water solution left in for approximately 30 minutes, then rinse.
Crane offers humidifiers in fun animal shapes (we have the cow and frog!) as well as classic shapes. They also have heaters, fans and air purifiers. The steel tower fan would be awesome right about now in the hottest month of summer!
Buy It: You can purchase the Drop Humidifier for $49.99.
