being MVP: Jogging Time with Kelty & Giveaway!

Jogging Time with Kelty & Giveaway!

Since Bean is arriving any day now, I am in no shape to go jogging.  So I asked my cousin to review the Kelty Speedster Swivel-Deluxe Jogging Stroller with her little man, Royce.

The Kelty Speedster Swivel Deluxe stroller is awesome.  It is full of safety features, which I appreciate. I love the blue color I received.  It folds up very compact.   I wanted something that I could maneuver at the beach, and this stroller works great!

It has an excellent sun shade, which is important to me for keeping the sun (or rain) off my baby while we are out hiking or at the beach.  There are a lot of safety features on this stroller.  It features a runaway leash for extra safety that goes around your wrist to give you peace of mind.

You can lock the front wheel for extra safety while jogging. In order to lock the front wheel, you just pull a little pin on the front wheel until it locks in place and you will hear a ‘click.’ Then you just release the little pin when you want the front wheel to swivel freely again.  It also includes a safety bell to alert pedestrians.

This stroller features a 5 point safety harness which is important to me when we ride over a bump while out hiking rocky trails. This stroller has excellent shock absorption.  The harness is easily adjustable to accomodate your child as he/she grows.

The stroller also has a parking brake on each of the rear wheels.  You can lock these brakes simply by pushing the levers down with your foot.  I wish that both brakes engaged simultaneously instead of having to lock each wheel separately.

It has a cupholder for mom, which is very important; I hate it when strollers don’t have cupholders! Or you could also use it as a bottle holder. The basket for underneath storage has a generous amount of space, perfect for storing all of our ‘basic necesseties,’ and does not drag on the ground like others I have seen. One thing I wish this stroller had is a snack tray.  I know when my son gets older and is ready for finger foods I would like to have one.

I like that this stroller has a peek-a-boo window, so I can check on my baby while I’m jogging, without having to pull back the shade or stop jogging.

The seat reclines for easy napping.  I am tall (5’11’’) so I appreciate that the handle height is adjustable.  Most other strollers are too low for me and are uncomfortable to push.

It is also nice when my four year old daughter wants a turn to push the stroller or ring the bell, I can easily lower it to her height.
This stroller is not compatible with any car seats, which is a negative.  My son is getting older, so this isn’t a huge issue for me since we’re outgrowing the infant car seat anyway.  But in the early months, it is so convenient when baby falls asleep in the carseat to simply plug them into the stroller when you arrive at your destination instead of disturbing them by buckling them into a separate stroller.

The stroller is not bulky at all and is extremely convenient even for strolling around our neighborhood or the local mall. It easily fits in my trunk on days when we venture out to the zoo or the aquarium.  The assembly was very simple except for the sun shade.  We had a difficult time attaching and positioning the sun shade, which came with its own set of instructions separate from the instructions for the stroller itself.

This stroller is easy to fold and unfold.  It isn’t a one step fold up, each side of the frame has a latch that locks in place.  The frame seems very sturdy.  The front and back wheels are all detachable, which makes it even more compact if needed for storage purposes.

The material is durable and very easy to clean as well, which is good for me because my daughter always wants to bring snacks and drinks along.

I have used other Kelty products before.  I have a Kelty hiking backpack that I loved using to carry my daughter with me on hikes.  Kelty products have a lifetime warranty against defects in workmanship, which does not cover things that result after normal wear and tear. Overall, I am very impressed with this stroller.  I feel like it will be an essential part of our lives for the next couple of years. I feel more motivated to get out and walk and get some exercise, because this stroller makes it so easy to do so!

Buy It:  You can purchase the Kelty Speedster Swivel-Deluxe Jogging Stroller for $399.99.
