Most babies seem to like the gentle rocking motion especially since it mimics being inside the womb. Kenzie had a swing but it was rarely used mainly because of the bulk and battery drainage. I was excited to receive the InGenuity Cozy Coo Sway Seat in Coco Cafe Fashion for Mason because not only was it supposed to give him a gentle rocking motion, it wasn't a space hog in our condo (we have yet to have an offer accepted on a house at this time).
When I took the parts out of the box and started putting it together in my huge pregnant state, I found it surprisingly quick to assemble minus one bar which fought me haha. The seat itself is very plush and the infant bolster is removable. There are 3 adjustable recline positions so your baby will find comfort. Just push the button and lift up/down for adjustment. The colors are neutral and will be great for a girl or a boy. The design is also very aesthetically pleasing so it doesn't shout "baby item" in your living room (or wherever you decided to place it).
As I've mentioned above, I was excited about the size and it really does deliver in that it is about 30% smaller than the full-size swing of Kenzie's. It's rather sleek and compact. One of the best features of this Sway Seat is that one can plug it in or use batteries (4 D)- definitely saves you $ in the long run. It also holds infants up to 25 pounds so technically Kenzie can go in it (she has definitely asked several times) but I don't let her.
The mobile above the seat resembles a carousel with whimsical plush animals attached. Mason likes to look up at them. The side-to-side motion is very comforting but I think it may be a little too fast for Mason right now since he's not yet 8 lbs. He seems to like sitting in it without it moving at the moment. However, when he does gain weight the unique swivel motion will be great because the speed actually adapts to your baby's body weight and maintains multiple speeds even as they grow. There is also a vibration option as well as 11 calming melodies and nature sound options. The Sway Seat can be put on a timer at intervals of 30, 45 and 60 minutes! I love this feature as you will know how long baby has been in there.
The swing motion is definitely quiet and doesn't disturb Mason (or the rest of the family). It blends in seamlessly into our home and provides a cozy place for him to chill (and gives me a little break). All in all - this Sway Seat is sturdy and gives me comfort in knowing that Mason is safe and secure! Check out my mini vid clip of him enjoying himself.
