I had the good intentions to make Kenzie her baby food but out of laziness and convenience, I went with jarred and pouch foods. This actually added up to quite a bit of $ so I am determined to make healthy baby foods for Mason and try my hand at healthy meals for Kenzie as well. I was excited to try the Baby Bullet.
When the box arrived and I took out the pieces, I was a bit overwhelmed. From a non-frequent cook's point of view, it just seemed to be a lot of work. However, once I read the directions and several of the recipes, it actually seemed feasible to whip up batches of food with minimal pain.
Here is all that is included in the box:

I received a copy of the The Baby Bullet Recipe Book and Nutrition Guide which contains over 200 pages of healthy recipes, food charts and feeding tips for your baby's first 3 years of development. After washing all the parts, I decided to attempt making Kenzie a smoothie and totsicles. Since Kenzie is picky at eating breakfast but loves smoothies, I thought the energy-blaster smoothie would be perfect to get some kind of nutrition in her.
I just needed the baby blend blade and short cup to make this delicious treat. I added watermelon, vanilla yogurt and a banana in the short cup and attached it to the baby blend blade. I then placed it on the baby bullet and turned for a few seconds and it was ready! The recipes calls for a couple ice cubes but since the short cup was already full once I added the ingredients, I left it out. The result was a smooth and nutritious drink for Kenzie with minimal effort on my part.
Since it's been a hot summer, Kenzie enjoys popsicles with daddy. However, those are laden with sugar and who knows what so the mango and banana totsicles recipe seemed like a great option. The mangos Hubs bought weren't ripe yet so I substituted in strawberries. This recipe called for the use of the baby blend blade and the batchbowl. I added bananas, strawberries and water to the batchbowl, attached to the baby blend blade and again a few seconds on the baby bullet and it was ready to pour into the batch tray.
I then added spoons in the middle (sticks would also work as well as cuter baby spoons in different colors) and covered with saran wrap. It was placed in the freezer (I made it at night) and was ready to eat the next day. You just press on the bottom of the batch tray and the popsicle pops right out. Kenzie treated herself to two and Hubs had one. She calls them her "yummy popsicles" so I will definitely make sure I have these ready for her everyday. A wonderful treat on a hot day that isn't full of unnecessary sugar and miscellaneous ingredients... only fresh fruit and water. How fun would these be for a party?

I also received the Turbo Steamer which I decided was perfect timing for Kenzie's love of eggs. Boiling the perfect egg takes time and sometimes doesn't come out right with the peel taking off chunks of the egg itself. By pouring one cup of water (with the included measuring cup) and adding 6 eggs to the egg tray and turning the knob to 5.... at the ding, you have perfectly cooked eggs! How simple is that? I was in awe that I cooked up the entire carton of eggs for Kenzie to enjoy :)
From the point of view of a person who rarely cooks and who is now a mother of a newborn boy who eats like crazy (breastmilk supplemented by formula because of the high intake amount), fresh food is a great option both nutritionally and budget-wise. The recipes look so easy and who can resist the cute storage?
