Kenzie has been going to Gymboree art classes and she really enjoys drawing (even fake drawing/painting). I take photos of the art projects she brings home because who can really store at least 3 different pieces of art a week in a small box? My mother really enjoyed taking Kenzie to class the week we were visiting. Since she is on the other side of the country, I was excited for Kenzie to try the Boogie Board Rip to share her doodling art with grandma in a more feasible way (other than mailing her all the physical art pieces).
The Boogie Board Rip LCD Writing Tablet allows one to write on it as if it were paper and save the writings as files. One can then upload the files onto the computer for editing, archiving and/or sharing. This method not only is environmentally friendly by saving on paper and ink, it is also conducive to organization - especially for children and their masterpieces. The "stylus" is easy for Kenzie's little 2 year old hands to use. She started scribbling drawing immediately and a press of a button either saves or deletes the file. The 9.5″ LCD Writing Surface is a great size at this age as well as the super light weight (less than a pound). I really like that there is no mess of crayons/pens/pencil plus Kenzie can enjoy herself without me constantly hoovering over her to clean the mess.
It is very easy to connect the Boogie Board Rip to the computer to upload the files for sharing and saving purposes using the included USB cord. The battery is also rechargeable - yay! Although there aren't "different" colors in Kenzie's drawings, she thoroughly enjoys the tablet and grandma enjoys seeing her so-called masterpieces.
