Before Kenzie was born I read in so many books that tummy time/visual stimulation is important for babies. However, when I tried tummy time with her it was not very successful or maybe it was the mats I purchased/returned/donated because of the non-interest. Tiny Love's sent me their newest Gymini Move & Play for Bean #2.
Right off the bat it is different than any other mats I have tried with Kenzie because of the sliding arch connector. These connectors snap right into the corners of the mat. They also allow for the toys to be placed within reach of wherever your tot is. Instead of pulling your baby through the arches or underneath the toys, you can easily slide the arches to make a safe opening for baby to go "in and out" of the play area. You just squeeze the yellow tab and slide to your heart's desire.
There are 7 different tunes in the music toy - wow that is a wonderful feature because variety is the spice of life :) The "music box" also features cute animal pictures as well as a hanging monkey for your babe to look at. The removable toys include Jitter elephant, Monkey rattle, Sun & cloud rattle, Colorful teether, Engaging mirror and Crinkly square toy. I like that you can remove and attach to stroller and/or carseat. I also love that there are sensory toys on the mat itself i.e. elephant crinkle ears, zebra mane ruffle, etc.
The mat is machine washable which I love and although pretty large in dimension (45"X41.7"), can easily be folded and taken on your travels. The mat is great for both tummy time (1-3 months) and playtime on back (3-6 months). I can't wait for Bean #2 to experience this stimulating mat from Tiny Love.
