Swaddling an infant is crucial to mama's sleep. I have learned the hard way and will not be making that mistake with bean #2. Kenzie startled easily during the nights (still does at times) and would have flailing arms. Woombie has created swaddles that envelop baby as if he/she was in the womb, literally. I chose the Carnival Summer Woombie for bean. It is very stretchy and will allow bean a bit of movement rather than having limbs pinned. The material is a cotton/spandex blend which is very light. The woombie features a 2 way zipper to allow for easy changing in the middle of the night. Bean #2 will hopefully be sleeping in woombie peace and allowing me to catch a few more zzz's.
Woombie also offers Mox Mittens. These are like mini tube socks but for babe's hands. Mittens are essential in keeping babe from scratching his/her precious face. Kenzie had flimsy, teeny mittens that would hardly stay on and/or with elastic that left imprints on her wrists. Those were a major fail and were discarded. The Mox Mittens are fab! They are long enough to keep from slipping yet comfortably soft. The soft pastels are also great for any gender. They come in both infant (no thumb) size and toddler (thumb) size.
